The top five cities are Lutsk and Khmelnytskyi, where IT workers earn $3,200 monthly. Before the war, the leaders were Odesa, Dnipro, and Kharkiv (from $3100 to $3,300). The shift of IT specialists to large cities is due to the location of offices of fast-growing foreign IT companies. For example, EPAM Systems has branches in more than 25 countries. In Ukraine there are offices in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Dnipro and Vinnytsia.

Ukraine's top five largest IT companies also include SoftServe, GlobalLogic, Luxoft, and Ciklum. All these IT giants have offices in Kyiv. Most have branches in Kharkiv, Lviv, Dnipro, and Odesa. Therefore IT salaries in Kyiv and other big cities are considered the highest in Ukraine.

Mostly Middle specialists start to move. This is due to their versatility for employers - they can handle the project on their own for a relatively low salary, in contrast to the Senior professionals. Looking at the current market situation, for instance, there are 1,244 vacancies for Middle on JOBITT. Of these, 296 are in Kyiv and Lviv, and 803 are for remote work.
