About the Position

We are looking for an expert Senior Java Developer to join our client's team. In this capacity, you will be instrumental in the architectural conceptualization, construction, and refinement of essential elements within a contemporary, cloud-centric platform dedicated to API orchestration and integration. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary units to ship scalable, protected, and high-utilization services while steering technical strategy and guiding junior team members. Working Hours: This role operates according to Ireland timezone (GMT/IST) business hours.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Architect, produce, and support backend microservices and APIs utilizing Java and associated tech stacks. Construct and refine platform modules like API gateways and persistence layers for Valkey, MongoDB, and PostgresDB. Produce readable, sustainable, and rigorously verified code following industry-standard engineering protocols.
• Architecture & Design Contribution: Partner with lead engineers and system architects to influence the technical roadmap and framework design. Engage in architectural audits and offer insights regarding the scalability, dependability, and long-term viability of engineering solutions.
• Platform Engineering: Operate within a Kubernetes-focused ecosystem, aiding in the rollout of containerized assets and the management of microservices.
• Quality & Testing: Sync with SDETs and quality assurance specialists to maintain extensive test coverage and solid automation at the unit, integration, and load levels. Conduct peer code reviews and uphold rigorous quality benchmarks throughout the development cycle.
• Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner closely with product leads, stakeholders, DevOps, and engineering peers to ship functionality that meets commercial objectives. Coach less experienced developers and foster an environment of perpetual growth and skill advancement.
• Monitoring & Optimization: Deploy observability frameworks and methodologies (including Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) to track system vitality and efficiency. Pinpoint performance throttles and tune services for improved latency, volume, and hardware utilization.

Requirements

• Technical Expertise: 5+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering, with a strong focus on distributed systems and API development. Proficiency in Java, with solid understanding of multithreading, memory management, and performance tuning. Experience with API design (REST, gRPC) and integration patterns. Hands-on experience with Valkey (or Redis), MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, including query optimization and data modeling. Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native deployment practices.
• Quality & DevOps: Experience with observability and monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and traceability.
• Collaboration & Communication: Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional Agile teams. Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team growth and technical excellence.
