Senior C Engineer (Linux network stack) in EPAM Ukraine

DESCRIPTION

Skills

• Excellent programming skills in C or C++
• Knowledge of distributed systems, multithreading, parallelism, RPC
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix platforms and experience developing software for these platforms
• Knowledge of debugging and troubleshooting techniques in distributed environments
• Experience in the development and implementation of fault-tolerant and highly available distributed systems
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology
• Knowledge of written and spoken English at Upper-Intermediate level and above (B2+)

Duties

• Participating in early-stage technical research, prototyping and PoC development for new features or architectural changes
• Development of technical specifications
• Participate in the development, implementation and testing of file system modules
• Profiling, analysis and optimization of file system performance at various levels
• Analyze and debug complex problems in a distributed environment
• Collaborate with customer service team on high priority/critical issues identified on end customer installations
• Set up and manage software quality assurance activities: module, integration and system tests; code review etc

Will be an advantage

• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python/Perl/Tcl/Bash)
• Knowledge of computer networking technologies and protocols (eg TCP/IP, NAT, IPv6, VPN, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, LACP, etc.)
• Knowledge of VFS and memory management in the Linux kernel
• Knowledge and experience in data storage technologies and high performance networks: NAS, SAN, RAID, Fiber Channel, InfiniBand/RDMA, NVMe-oF
• Knowledge of distributed storage systems and distributed/parallel file systems (NFS, SMB, Luster, GPFS, Ceph, etc.)
