| Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled     WordPress Developer     to join our team. Youwill be responsible for developing, and maintaining a custom WordPress site and plugins, ensuring optimal performance, SEO friendliness, and a seamless user experience. Collaboration with the designer, SEO specialist and project manager is essential to deliver projects on time and to specification.

| Key Responsibilities

Theme Development & Customization     
Build responsive, pixel-perfect themes from scratch or adapt existing frameworks; implement custom templates and custom designs. 

Performance Optimization      
Conduct audits and implement caching, image optimization, lazy loading, and database tuning to achieve fast load times and high Lighthouse scores

Security & Maintenance      
Apply security best practices, manage updates, monitor vulnerabilities, and perform regular backups.

SEO & Accessibility          
Ensure sites meet SEO standards (structured data, schema) and WCAG accessibility guidelines.

Collaboration & Documentation          
Work closely with UI/UX designers, content editors, and marketing team; produce clear documentation and code comments for future maintenance.

Support            
Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot issues, and assist with post-launch support.

| Required Qualifications

• Experience:    3+ years of professional WordPress development (themes, plugins, custom post types).

• Languages:    Proficient in PHP, HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/LESS), JavaScript (ES6+), and MySQL.

• Frameworks & Tools:    Familiarity with REST API, Gutenberg block development, Composer, Git (branching/PR workflow).

• Performance:    Ability to optimize sites for speed (caching, CDN, asset minification).

• Security:    Understanding of WordPress security hardening, OWASP best practices.

• Responsive Design:    Strong grasp of responsive and mobile?first design principles.

• Problem Solving:    Proven track record of debugging complex issues and delivering clean, maintainable code.

| Preferred Skills

• Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce or other e-commerce integrations.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines).

• Exposure to server environments (Linux, Nginx/Apache, Docker).

• Understanding of SEO tools (Yoast, Rank Math) and analytics integration.
