Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is currently looking for a WASH/Shelter/NFI Assistant to join the team in Kyiv office, Ukraine.

About PAH:

Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is an international non-governmental organization which since 1992 has been providing humanitarian and development help worldwide. So far, the interventions have been carried out in 46 different countries. By possessing long-standing expertise in the implementation of projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Food Security and Livelihoods, as well as Nutrition and Education, PAH concentrates its global activities on ensuring sustainable and stable development of regions suffering from the consequences of armed conflicts, natural disasters and other humanitarian crises.

PAH has been present in Ukraine since August 2014 delivering humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable of the conflict-affected population. PAH provides assistance to internally displaced people, elderly and single mothers, working in the sectors of food security protection and livelihoods. PAH Ukraine is currently expanding programming from humanitarian to both early recovery and development-oriented interventions that provide sustainable livelihoods opportunities to the affected population.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support implementing partners in delivery of WASH and Shelter NFI activities and on site needs monitoring across PAH operational areas
  • Provide technical guidance to partners on beneficiary targeting, registration and verification processes
  • Review and support preparation of BoQs and technical specifications for partner led interventions
  • Maintain close coordination with implementing partners, local institutions and affected communities
  • Provide guidance on organizing beneficiary registration and selection using KoboCollect or similar tools
  • Deliver remote and on site technical support to partner teams and field staff
  • Monitor partner progress within scope of responsibility and provide structured feedback to management
  • Participate in joint needs assessments with partners in project areas
  • Ensure proper collection, review and archiving of partner documentation
  • Represent PAH in coordination meetings and support partners in relevant cluster engagement
  • Conduct monitoring visits to partner project sites across Ukraine
  • Perform other tasks as requested by supervisor

The successful candidate will be selected based on the qualification requirements described below:

  • At least 1 years of experience in WASH, Shelter/NFI, infrastructure, or humanitarian programming
  • Experience supporting project implementation, preferably with NGOs or local partners
  • Experience with beneficiary registration, data collection, or field monitoring is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of WASH and/or Shelter/NFI interventions and repair works
  • Ability to review basic BoQs and technical specifications
  • Experience using data collection tools such as Kobo Collect or similar platforms
  • Good documentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to work with implementing partners, local authorities, and community representatives
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to support meetings, prepare notes, and follow up on action points
  • Willingness to travel regularly to project sites across Ukraine
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced humanitarian environment and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Ability to travel
