IsraAID's mission is to support people affected by humanitarian crises by partnering with local communities around the world to provide immediate relief, facilitate recovery and reduce the risks of future disasters.

IsraAID has been operating in Ukraine since the beginning of 2022, when the organization responded for urgent humanitarian needs arising as a result of the war. Since then, we have shifted our focus to implementing a long-term program strategy, including health, water and sanitation (WaSH), mental health and psychosocial support programmes.

IsraAID's work in Ukraine contributes to sustainable and inclusive solutions with special attention to building resilience of communities to future challenges, as well as close cooperation with leaders of communities, regions and nations.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated project manager to lead the activities of the Water, Sanitation and hygiene on the ground in the target areas within the framework of IsraAID's humanitarian response program in the field of HCV. 

The role involves ensuring access to safe water, improving sanitation and promoting hygiene to improve the well-being of affected communities.

 The successful candidate will oversee the planning, execution and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope and budget and meeting project objectives. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

< p>Project planning and management:

  • Determining the scope, objectives and results of the project with the support of the Program Manager and in cooperation with stakeholders. 
  • Development of detailed plans, schedules, budgets, and procurement plans for WSG project activities.
  • Identification of project risks and implementation of strategies to reduce them
  • Involvement of beneficiaries in all aspects projects and their accountability: implementation of mechanisms of accountability, feedback and reporting.
  • External coordination: ensuring proper coordination and communication with other international and non-governmental organizations working in the target territories. 
  • Information management and documentation tracking: responsible for the proper collection, management and archiving of all project-related documentation for internal and external audit purposes;

Execution , monitoring and evaluation:

  • Coordination with internal resources and third parties/postinitiators/contractors to ensure project execution.
  • Monitoring project progress, tracking key milestones and adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Ensuring project implementation so that deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.< /li>
  • Supervision and support for the design and construction of water supply and sanitation facilities.
  • Providing technical recommendations on water supply systems, sanitary infrastructure and advocacy activities hygiene.

Communication with stakeholders:

  • Act as primary contact person for stakeholders by providing regular updates.

  • Preparation and presentation of project reports, including status, risks and results.
  • Liaise with local authorities, NGOs, community leaders and other stakeholders to facilitate cooperation.
  • Project closure:

    • Ensuring proper documentation of project results and lessons learned.
    • Regulation transfer of the project to operational teams or beneficiaries.
    • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify success and areas for improvement.
    • Contribute to the organizational transformation of IsraAID Ukraine towards greater localization. Collect lessons learned and best practices as well as case studies (from IsraAID and/or other partners) that can be used for IsraAID's ongoing training, reporting to donors, and IsraAID's communication materials
    < p style="font-style: normal; font-weight: 400">ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, health care, construction or related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • Engineering experience
    • 2 years of project management experience (preferably in a humanitarian or development context), including at least 1 year of experience working with local and by national actors
    • In-depth understanding of community water and sanitation processes, public health and one or more other relevant areas (e.g. health promotion, engagement hromad).
    • Experience in managing emergency projects of the USH in a humanitarian context will be considered an advantage.
    • Ability to work for a long time under pressure, flexibly, adaptively and autonomously.
    • Ability work with communities and vulnerable population categories in a sensitive and participatory manner.
    • Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
    • Knowledge of English languages ​​will be considered an advantage
    • Adherence to humanitarian principles and ethical standards
    • Proficiency in office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, work on the Internet, etc.), Teams and Outlook
