Trainee of the data engineering department in Metinvest Digital

KEY TASKS:

• Work with data and ETL processes: help in the development and maintenance of pipelines in Azure Data Factory, uploading data from various sources (databases, APIs, files) to cloud storage, checking the quality of data after uploading (validations, control volumes, basic checks), participation in incident investigation;
• Data preparation in the warehouse: writing basic SQL queries for data transformation in Azure Synapse / SQL, help in creating data showcases for analytics, working with tables, views, simple aggregations;
• Integrations and technical support: help in working with APIs (receiving and sending data, checking responses), analysis logs and technical errors of integrations, support of documentation on data flows (what is uploaded from where to where and how);
• Data Quality and documentation: assistance in data quality checks (completeness, duplicates, incorrect values), description of tables, fields and logic of calculations in the internal knowledge base, participation in the construction of an understandable data structure for business users.
• Support of analytical tasks: assistance to analysts in finding the necessary data in the warehouse, preparing simple selections for business requests, checking that the data is correctly entered into reports (for example, in Power BI).

YOU ARE OUR CANDIDATE IF YOU HAVE:

• Understanding what databases are and how they store data;
• Basic SQL: SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, filtering, simple aggregations;
• General understanding of what ETL / ELT processes are;
• Basic understanding of API (what is a request, response, JSON).

Will be your plusc:

• Basic knowledge of Git or any version control system;
• Experience with any programming language (Python / C# / JavaScript);
• Familiarity with cloud services, especially Azure.
