The TCHU is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the department's activities, coordination of the implementation of mine countermeasures, in particular "Information about the risks of explosive objects and safer behavior", "Non-technical survey of territories", "Risks of the use and application in communities of various types of weapons", "Chemical, biological, radiation and nuclear threats", for the development of partnership in the project areas of the department, control over compliance with standards and procedures, as well as ensuring high quality implementation of the department's tasks. 

Criteria for evaluating performance in the position:

1. Implementation of programs and directions of the department in accordance with the plan and established deadlines.
2. Effective communication with regional specialists, communication support with authorities, partners.
3. Ensuring timely and high-quality preparation of reporting and financial documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic management: Development of strategic plans for the department short- and long-term period.
• Organization of the work of the department: Ensuring coordination between department employees, regional coordinators and other units.
• Control of program implementation: Monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of the implementation of measures, ensuring the compliance of activities anti-mine standards activities.
• Resource management: Planning and control of the use of financial and material resources of the department, reporting in accordance with the requirements of the organization and donors.
• Communication: Establishing and maintaining partnerships with international and local organizations , regular informing about the results of activities.
• Development of educational materials: Control over the development and implementation of methodological recommendations, instructions, training programs, standard operationsprocedures.
• Response to challenges: Development and implementation of solutions in case of problems or changes in the external environment.

Additional duties :

• Staff training: Organization and conducting of trainings, workshops, professional development events for employees at the national and at the regional levels.
• Representation of the department: Participation in meetings, conferences and forums devoted to the topic of mine action.
• Ensuring reporting: Coordination of preparation and submission of operational, financial and analytical reports to the direct management of the NC of the ChKHU and donors.
• Initiation of projects: Development of new project initiatives aimed at developing areas of mine protection activity.

Requirements: 

• Higher education in management, social sciences, international relations or related disciplines.
• Additional education (attendance of trainings/sessions/educational courses) in mine action
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in the field of project management, in particular in humanitarian or mine action activities.
• Experience of working with international partners, preparation of projects in relevant areas and financial reporting
• Skills in conducting educational trainings and presentations.
• Skills in working with Microsoft programs ( Word, Excel, working with databases, e-mail).
• Negotiation/collaboration skills.
• Driver's license (category B).
• Free proficiency in the Ukrainian language
• Proficiency in English will be an advantage.
