Organization Description
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods destroyed by conflict and disaster, survive, recover and gain control over their lives. Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC works with people forced from their homes by war, conflict and disaster, as well as with host communities and those who remain in their communities. Position Overview< /strong>
Under the technical supervision of the Senior Child Protection Manager, the Child Protection Grants Officer will be responsible for supporting the Child Protection team in all aspects of related to the provision of monetary assistance for protection. The cash component is seen as a protective measure to increase the resilience of vulnerable children and their families, especially those at high risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation. Cash assistance can provide immediate relief by providing access to essential services or meeting urgent needs that might otherwise be unavailable due to financial constraints. This position reports to the Senior Child Protection Manager and is based in one of IRC's program implementation locations, including Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa and Kharkiv, ensuring effective program delivery and coordination with key contact persons.

• Track lessons learned, challenges and opportunities for program improvement by documenting and sharing best practices across teams.
Additional Responsibilities:< /p>
Interagency Coordination:
•Interact with the Protection, Rule of Law (PRoL), Women's Protection and Support (WPE) teams, Economic Recovery and Development (ERD) and MEAL to conduct joint evaluations, gather evidence of the effectiveness of cash assistance and explore opportunities for integration with other protection programs.
Advocacy and Representation:
• Represent the child protection team at internal and external coordination meetings on cash for protection issues, advocating for the inclusion of the specific needs of vulnerable children and families in wider cash assistance strategies.
• Collaborate with local and international stakeholders parties to promote effective cash interventions as an important tool in child protection responses.
Adapting to New Needs:
•Continuously review the approach to cash assistance for protection, ensuring it is sensitive to emerging trends in child protection, including new risks or obstacles faced by children and families (eg during displacement, conflict escalation or community change).
Documentation and Learning:
• Lead efforts to document lessons learned, success stories and challenges within cash-for-protection interventions, facilitating overall learning within the child protection team and in the humanitarian sector.
