It was founded in 1939 as a trade union movement of a humanitarian organization of solidarity. The NPA aims to improve people's living conditions and create societies that are fairer and more democratic. The international activity of the NPA has three main areas of activity: Demining and disarmament; Democratization and fair distribution of power and resources; Humanitarian Action and Crisis Response.

The NPA launched a Demining and Disarmament program in Ukraine to protect civilians from explosive ordnance threats. The NPA plans to provide assistance to the civilian population and internally displaced persons in the context of humanitarian actions: education about the threat of explosive devices, education about demining, as well as other development projects.

Now the NPA in Ukraine has a vacancy Surveyor - Non-Technical Survey.

This position involves regular business trips to different regions of Ukraine and work directly on contaminated sites (fields and other types of terrain).

The NTO inspector is part of a team that conducts non-technical surveys (NTO) of areas and disseminates knowledge about the risks associated with mines and explosive remnants of war (INRM/EORE) in communities exposed to such risks.

NTO inspector together with his team leader is required to collect data and report to the operations director using all relevant information , as well as equipment and tools.

According to NTS and EORE standard operating procedures, National Mine Action Standards, as well as instructions, the NTO inspector will carry out non-technical research and will conduct NRM risk training in identified communities, performing the following tasks:

  • Conduct non-technical research and NRM activities in accordance with NPA standard operating procedures, as well as tasks assigned by the team leader NGO;
  • Participation with the group in meetings with state bodies or communities;
  • Performing the duties of a surveyor in accordance with this job description;
  • Organizing the collection of geographic information regarding communities that have mined areas, mine and explosive remnants of war threats, technical data, socio-economic conditions, monitoring of the implementation of recommendations and the impact of NPA activities on the community, including information on mine and explosive remnants of war accidents;< /li>
  • Assessment of needs at the village and community level;
  • Analysis of collected data and dissemination of information when necessary;
  • Close cooperation and coordination of all humanitarian mine action activities;
  • Conducting presentations on the risks associated with mines and explosive remnants of war (ERW) in areas of competence, when necessary;
  • Gathering information from target communities through face-to-face interviews or discussions in focus groups, when necessary;
  • Participation in the preliminary analysis ofore surfaces;
  • Field data collection;
  • Performance of urgent marking of identified risk areas, if and when required by the Operations Director/Technical Director responsible for field operations.
  • Execution of other tasks for the needs of the project;

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Required:

non-technical inspection (NTO);
  • Successful completion of a training course on disseminating information about the risks of INRM.
  • Desirable:

    • Previous work experience in the humanitarian sector;
    • Previous work experience in demining;
    • Good oral command of the Ukrainian language;
    • Good interpersonal skills;
    • Good communication skills and the ability to get along;
    • Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions and adapt to difficult circumstances;
    • Willingness and ability to move around the country .

    • The monthly salary (after training and obtaining accreditation) is 1,500 USD per month (before taxes), which is recalculated and paid in the hryvnia equivalent at the NBU exchange rate on the date of salary payment.
