Norwegian People's Aid
Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) — a humanitarian non-governmental organization — works in more than 30 countries around the world. It was founded in 1939 as a trade union movement of a humanitarian organization of solidarity. The NPA aims to improve people's living conditions and create societies that are fairer and more democratic. The international activity of the NPA has three main areas of activity: Demining and disarmament; Democratization and fair distribution of power and resources; Humanitarian Action and Crisis Response.
The NPA launched a Demining and Disarmament program in Ukraine to protect civilians from explosive ordnance threats. The NPA plans to provide assistance to the civilian population and internally displaced persons in the context of humanitarian actions: education about the threat of explosive devices, education about demining, as well as other development projects.
Now the NPA in Ukraine has a vacancy Surveyor - Non-Technical Survey.
This position involves regular business trips to different regions of Ukraine and work directly on contaminated sites (fields and other types of terrain).
The NTO inspector is part of a team that conducts non-technical surveys (NTO) of areas and disseminates knowledge about the risks associated with mines and explosive remnants of war (INRM/EORE) in communities exposed to such risks.
NTO inspector together with his team leader is required to collect data and report to the operations director using all relevant information , as well as equipment and tools.
According to NTS and EORE standard operating procedures, National Mine Action Standards, as well as instructions, the NTO inspector will carry out non-technical research and will conduct NRM risk training in identified communities, performing the following tasks:
