Job Description

Mental Health Case Management Specialist comprehensively supports and coordinates the provision of assistance to individuals (and their families) experiencing mental health problems in everyday life by assessing clients' needs, developing, implementing and monitoring treatment plans, and facilitating access to various services. The Mental Health Case Management Professional mediates between clients, families, and service providers, advocating for clients' needs and rights while working toward their goals of recovery and independence. A mental health case management professional considers the lifestyle and culture of clients when providing culturally sensitive care services. A mental health case manager is open to learning about a person's experience and belief system, open to learning about a person's life cycle through experience rather than speculation.

To be successful in this job, a person must be able to perform each important function and be able to adapt. 

Minimum requirements:

- Higher humanities education (psychology, social work, philosophy, sociology or pedagogy (Bachelor) or any equivalent).

- At least 1-2 years in the field of social/cultural work. Previous work experience in a humanitarian organization is an advantage.

- Fluency in Ukrainian, Russian - English is an advantage.

- Adheres to ethical considerations and principles of work with vulnerable population groups.

- Previous experience working in mental health and psychosocial support programs and activities is an advantage.

- Living in the city of Dnipro or its surroundings.

- Ability to work in emergency situations.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

KEY DUTIES AND DUTIES:

Service Mapping, predirection,andndebug network contacts:

  • Carry out mapping of services in the area of ​​activity, identify coordinators, establish cooperation to ensure effective referral (from MMK to other institutions and from other institutions to the MMK team on issues of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) in liaison with the Mental Health Case Management (MHCM) team and document this in the Referral Matrix. Update the Referral Matrix monthly.
  • Participate actively in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) meetings and coordination activities within the area of ​​activity to keep abreast of available services/initiatives and emerging issues and to ensure effective referral and coordination of assistance.

 Information and educational work, raising awareness and conducting educational trainings:

  • Conducting outreach meetings and events in collaboration with the Mental Health Case Management (MHCM) team to promote, educate and providing information about the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services provided by MMK, including Mental Health Case Management (MHCM), available in the area of ​​operation, to individuals, community groups and centers, local partners, other institutions, local health services, educational institutions, etc.
  • Conducting needs assessment in community groups and centers, local partners, others instates, local health services and educational institutions (at the request of the head of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and providing recommendations on potential activities of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), trainings, group classes psychological support, alternative research assignments (ARA), psychoeducation in consultation with the Mental Health Management (MHCM) team.
  • of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), as needed and at the request of the head of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).
  • Preparation and conducting psychosocial activities for clients, their families, schools, etc. in collaboration with the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) team, using appropriate IEC guidelines, tools and materials approved by the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Manager ( MHPSS) of the International Medical Corps.

Other duties:

- Preparation, participation and documentation of technical meetings, supervision sessions and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPS) case conferences, as well as participation in them.

- Report directly to the HR manager.

- Work closely with PZPSP teams to achieve program goals and indicators.

- Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed herein are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily exhaustive.

- Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. The candidate must maintain a high level of flexibility in terms of accepting additional responsibilities, work to established deadlines, after hours and weekends as required, and guarantee privacy
