Location: Kharkiv, with frequent work trips to other cities of the region

Type of employment: full-time

Duration: fixed-term employment contract for 9 months (from with the possibility of extension)

About the Polish Humanitarian Action (PHA):

The Polish Humanitarian Action (PHA) is an international non-governmental organization that has been providing humanitarian and development aid worldwide since 1992. So far, interventions have been carried out in 46 countries. With many years of experience in the implementation of projects in the field of water supply, sanitation and hygiene, food security and livelihoods, as well as nutrition and education, PGA focuses its global activities on ensuring the sustainable and stable development of regions suffering from the consequences of armed conflicts, natural disasters and other humanitarian crises. Since July 2014, PGA has been operating in Ukraine, providing humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable people affected by the conflict. PGA provides assistance to internally displaced persons, the elderly and single mothers and fathers working in food security, psychosocial support and livelihoods sectors.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Under the direct supervision of the project coordinator, ensuring effective and timely implementation of project tasks in accordance with the work plan.
  • Establishing and maintaining partnerships with local and regional state social structures, civil society organizations and other stakeholders for the development and strengthening of the psychosocial support project for people affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
  • Ensuring knowledge, understanding and support of local and state legislation, international standards and instructions of agencies, regarding the support of people with disabilities, people from vulnerable categories in the implementation of project activities.
  • Organization of relevant activities related to advocacy within the framework of case management for the protection of people of vulnerable categories and inclusion of people with disabilities in the local community.
  • Providing legal consultations and support at the primary and secondary stages of solving legal problems within the framework of Case Management.
  • Conducting legal consultations for members of the mobile team for the timely implementation of project activities and ensuring project implementation.
  • Consulting/drafting requests and responses to state authorities.
  • Consulting on filling out the necessary documents on social issues.
  • Consulting project beneficiaries on inheritance issues.
  • Preparation / storage of project documentation and performance of any other tasks that are implemented during project implementation.
  • Collection of necessary data for regular reports and preparation of monthly / quarterly reports in accordance with the guidelines, including the following measures to improve the situation.
  • Execution of other current tasks that may affect the achievement of the final result of the program

Requirements:

  • At least a bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field of jurisdiction
  • Experience of interaction with state structures, regarding social protection of people with disabilities, people of vulnerable categories and experience of working with direct recipients of assistance.
  • Experience in solving issues with movable and immovable property.
  • At least one year of work experience in the direction of social inclusion.
  • Experience in conducting advocacy activities and referrals (experience in social support may also be considered);
  • Experience of working with mine hazard victims and people with disabilities;
  • Ability to work independentlyiino;
  • Good organizational and leadership qualities;
  • Ability to work in a team, maintain a favorable working climate in the team and quickly resolve conflict situations,
  • Ability to quickly react to changing plans depending on changing situations
  • Excellent computer skills; knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Good understanding of the local context and the humanitarian and social needs of people affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
