Social issues specialist/official in Shid SOS

We help the population in all government-controlled territories: we evacuate and relocate, repair shelters and centers for displaced persons, document crimes, implement educational programs, transfer charitable assistance, we carry out monitoring visits, advocate for changes, provide legal and psychological consultations. We are looking for a specialist, a specialist in social questions:

• city of Zaporizhzhia, offline;
• outings to communities and transit centers in Zaporizhzhia and Volosky (Dnipropetrovsk region) are planned;
• remuneration is discussed during the interview.

Tasks: 1. Transit shelter in Zaporozhye:

• identification of needs and development of an individual support plan;
• social counseling and support, including to state institutions;
• coordination with the team and social services;
• documentation and preparation reporting.

2. Transit centers in Voloske (Dnipropetrovsk region):

• conducting initial meetings, emotional stabilization and psychosocial counseling;
• providing information about services and resources;
• supporting people in crisis (first psychological aid, escorting to temporary places stay);
• consulting on social rights, assistance, relocation opportunities.

3. Emergency response in the city of Zaporozhye and the region:

• operational assistance to victims of enemy attacks;
• response to crisis situations;
• support in the form of psychological first aid and counseling on social services.

4. Field counseling and training in the communities of the Zaporizhzhia region:

• conducting informational and consulting trips;
• social support of beneficiaries in the communities, training of community representatives and partner structures.

We expect:

• professional experience of 2+ years;
• a higher education in the field of social work or a related field;
• experience in counseling persons who have experienced traumatic events or are representatives of vulnerable population groups;
• knowledge of current legislation in the field of social assistance and human rights;
• experience of assistance in crisis centers or similar non-governmental organizations will be an advantage;
• having a driver's license will be an advantage;
• documentation and reporting skills;
• compliance with ethics, confidentiality of information and professional standards;
• participation in education, training and supervision for professional development.
