NRC began its activities in Ukraine at the end of 2014, supporting people affected by the conflict in the east of the country. We are currently increasing our efforts in Ukraine and neighboring countries to provide assistance to people forced to leave their homes due to war.

We are looking for < b style="font-weight: 700">Coordinator of the Housing Rehabilitation Programin the Northern Regional Office of the NRC in Kyiv.

< p style="font-style: normal; font-weight: 400">Your duties will include:

  • Coordinating and carrying out technical assessments of infrastructure in targeted buildings/infrastructure facilities to identify rehabilitation/modernization needs and defining intervention strategies/plans
  • Assisting in the development special technical instructions, tools and mechanisms to support and monitor the activities of the housing team
  • Ensuring the community is adequately informed about the planned activities
  • Contributing to organizational learning by providing specific technical analysis and reports
  • Technical support of coordination mechanism (e.g. coordination of clusters) and working groups
  • Ensuring comprehensive documentation of all activities carried out
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure proper planning and implementation of agreed integrated programs in the target areas in the North of Ukraine
  • Close cooperation with other departments to solve cross-cutting issues that may arise during the implementation of project activities
  • Supporting the line manager in the preparation of reports of any kind and assisting in proposal writing, including development of work plan, budget, terms of reference, list of activities
  • Maintain contact with local authorities/community to advocate for NRC activities in the field of housing restoration and obtain necessary permits for project implementation

  • Strategy of the housing rehabilitation program to meet all donor requirements and specific projects as stipulated in partnership agreements and general donor guidelines
  • Assist in any other duties assigned line manager, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in construction and/or housing rehabilitation programs
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in managerial positions
  • Documented technical competencies related to job duties
  • Goodand working knowledge of the mandates and conditions of the international humanitarian sector, including the UN cluster system
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, as well as the ability to liaise authoritatively with representatives of the humanitarian community, local media, local authorities and army, as well as other relevant entities when necessary
  • Good understanding of humanitarian legislation and accountability to donors and the affected population
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian building codes and regulations is an advantage
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken, is a must
