Job description

Senior social work specialist in the training of social workers on GBV issues is responsible for conducting trainings and supporting staff and/or partner organizations engaged in combating GBV in strengthening the capacity to prevent and respond to cases of GBV. To be successful in this position, the candidate must perform the main duties independently or special working conditions are required.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

< strong style="font-weight: 700">Planning

  • Support in capacity building needs assessment, in coordination with government and partners, as needed.
  • Support the development of capacity building strategies." technical advisor on HSE, as appropriate, to plan capacity building interventions.
  • Collaborate with relevant program teams to prioritize training for staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordination with partner organizations, as necessary, to organize training and support capacity building needs.
  • Assist in recruiting new staff, as needed, to strengthen the organizational capacity of the emergency response services.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Minimum Standards of the International Medical Corps for combating GZN, as well as relevant interagency instructions and standards.
  • Coordinate with the logistics department and other planning departmentsI'm training.

Building potential

  • Support the development and adaptation of educational tools and resources.
  • Orient staff and partners, if necessary, regarding available software and professional development resources.
  • Conduct CSP training and train-the-trainer training, as appropriate, for CSP non-specialists, as determined by programmatic and contextual needs. Training topics may include: basic concepts of OSS, basic OSS response and diversion, integration of OSS and risk mitigation, countermeasures to SEA.
  • Conduct HSE training and train-the-trainers, as appropriate, for HSE specialists as determined by programmatic and contextual needs. Training topics may include: minimum standards for addressing GBV, GBV case management, caring for children affected by GBV, supporting adolescent girls, safe spaces for women and girls, and other technical approaches or program models. 
  • Conducting trainings remotely and face-to-face.
  • Provide support and lead initiatives with capacity building beyond training, where appropriate, including coaching sessions and team exercises.
  • Coordinating work with PZPSP, child protection service and other specialists, if necessary, for comprehensive capacity building.

< strong style="font-weight: 700">Project Management 

  • Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of trainings and participation in them.
  • Planning and procurement of materials necessary for training, in accordance with the project budget and schedule.
  • Maintaining clear records and data of all training and capacity building sessions.
  • Track progress and report issues.
  • Contribute to the preparation of regular program reports, on time and with accurate data.
  • Donor compliance. Coordination, advocacy and representation.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including partner organizations, community leaders and service providers.
  • Represent capacity-building needs, program goals, and standards for combating illegal activities.

Security and Behavior

  • Ensuring compliance with security protocols and policies.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and conducive work environment for all employees, volunteers and partners of the anti-terrorist program.
  • Represent the core principles of GBV programs, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, non-violence and the promotion of gender equality.
  • Contribute to building a positive image and overall trust in the program and organization, including through adherence to the Code of Conduct and Ethics, including compliance with the Anti-Harassment, Safeguards and SEA policies.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant level of work experience.
  • Typically 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated affection core principles of GBV programs, including gender equality and victim-oriented support services.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, approaches, and tools for preventing and responding to GHGs.
  • < span style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal">Knowledge of standards and guidelines related to protection against SEA.
  • < span style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal">Experience in training and facilitation.
  • Experience with local/national partners preferred.
  • Experience with state and local service providers preferred.
  • Ability to make informed decisions, be flexible and be ready for new challenges at work.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in the Ukrainian language and basic knowledge of the English language.
