Senior / Lead Python Engineer with AI experience in KDA Group

We are looking for a Senior / Lead Python Engineer with AI experience for one of our clients — a Netherlands-based multinational operating in location technology and consumer electronics.

You will join a team building and scaling AI-enabled products, with a strong focus on production readiness, evaluation quality, and reliable deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship new product features using Python
• Build and improve production services around AI capabilities (APIs, orchestration, observability)
• Contribute to CI/CD and MLOps workflows: automated builds, deployments, monitoring, reliability
• Develop and improve internal evaluation tooling to track model quality and key metrics
• Support integration and deployment into client environments
• Drive “product hardening”: performance optimization, robust error handling, monitoring/alerting
• Collaborate with engineering and applied ML stakeholders, translate requirements into scalable solutions

Requirements (must-have)

• 5+ years of professional experience with Python in production systems
• Hands-on experience delivering AI-enabled applications (LLM-based or classical ML)
• Strong engineering practices: clean architecture, testing, code review, Git, CI/CD
• Experience with deployment and operations (cloud environments, containers, monitoring)
• Ability to take ownership, work independently, and mentor others (Principal level)

Nice to have

• Experience with evaluation/quality systems for AI models (metrics, regression testing, dashboards)
• Practical knowledge of prompt engineering and/or fine-tuning workflows
• FastAPI/Flask, async Python, distributed systems, event-driven architectures
