REQUIREMENTS We're Looking for an Android Developer Who Has: A minimum of 5 years of experience in Android app development, with a strong understanding of Kotlin and Jetpack components; Proven expertise with tools and libraries such as Navigation, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, ViewModel, Jetpack Compose, View Binding, Koin, and Realm; Familiarity with modular app architecture and the ability to maintain reusable, scalable codebases; Awareness of legacy technologies like Data Binding and LiveData, with readiness to interact with legacy codebases when necessary; Knowledge of future technologies, including Room and DataStore, with a willingness to adopt them thoughtfully when appropriate; Strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and adaptability in a fast-paced fintech environment; Commitment to staying updated with emerging Android technologies and best practices.RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Senior Android Developer, You Will:Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to design and implement new features for a fintech application tailored to the UK market;Develop and maintain core modules, ensuring consistency and adherence to established design systems and development practices; Lead the implementation of modern Android tools and libraries (e.g., Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Flow, and Koin) while promoting best practices; Support the refactoring and maintenance of legacy code, ensuring smooth integration into the modern architecture; Actively participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and the weekly Android developer catch-up to propose and evaluate new tools or techniques; Mentor junior developers and contribute to the growth of the Android development team by sharing knowledge and expertise; Ensure high-quality deliverables by writing unit tests, performing debugging, and optimizing performance. ABOUT PROJECT Description The client is a UK-based Fintech mobile-first business that cooperates with influential UK banks and companies by providing digital and physical credit cards and other financing services. The application grants a straightforward yet secure credit management system devoid of bureaucratic hustle. The solution is simple on the surface yet complex “under the hoof” –– with security measures that ensure the protection of sensitive data. Being a white-label solution, the application grants flexibility and the opportunity to customize the platform for the client’s customers. The solution has been live for over a year – the team continuously develops new features.
