POSITION: Satellite Image Analyst

LOCATION: Brovary

RESPONSIBILITY: Manager of the Earth Remote Sensing Department

Satellite Image AnalystHALO Trust is recruiting for the position of a satellite imagery analyst to support his work on clearing the territory of Ukraine of landmines and unexploded ordnance. At the initial stage, the term of the fixed-term contract for the specified position will be 3 months, with the possibility of renewing the permanent contract in the future depending on performance. The Satellite Image Analyst will process and analyze images from a number of remote sensing sources and produce information products for use by HALO demining and survey teams. The individual in this position will also participate in a number of research and development projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and process satellite images from multiple sources for end use by field teams on a number of platforms.
  • Analyze satellite images, identify data of operational value and add records to the information management system HALO.
  • Process data from UAV sensors (optical, thermal, multispectral, lidar) to create orthomosaics and other information products.
  • Check the quality of collected data and enter them into HALO information storage systems.
  • Cooperate with members of the research and development department to develop remote sensing and processing tools information.

 Requirements:

  • Higher education in the field of remote sensing or a related field.
  • Experience in the field of at least 2 years.
  • Experience in using photogrammetry techniques.
  • Experience in processing satellite images and images from UAV sensors for offline display andonline maps, building layers for online platforms.
  • Ability to think critically.
  • Proactive approach and initiative.
  • Developed communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to implement innovations.

 Will be considered an advantage:

  • Proficiency in English (preferred).
  • Experience using Pix4D to process images from UAVs.
  • Experience with the Esri suite of products, especially ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Experience processing data from various types of sensory sensors (optical, thermal, multispectral, lidar).
  • Experience using Python or other programming languages to automate workflows in ArcGIS
