Description
The Remote Sensing Officer (Imagery Analyst) will process and analyse imagery from a range of remote sensing sources, both Satellite and high-resolution UAV imagery. The Imagery Analyst will analyse and produce information products for use by HALO’s clearance and survey teams in the field. The role is primarily office based.
Requirements
- Ukrainian citizen
- Fluent spoken and written Ukrainian.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Experience of analysing satellite and UAV sensor data for display on online and offline maps
- Experience processing data from different remote sensors (optical, thermal, multispectral, lidar).
- Proficiency with software such as ENVI, SNAP, Google Earth Engine, Erdas Imagine, Remote View, Socket GXP desirable
- Familiarity with the Esri suite of products, such as ArcGIS Pro desirable
- Familiarity with Python (arcpy, rasterio, geopandas, opencv) or other programming languages such as R desirable .
Responsibilities
- Request and download Satellite imagery and SAR data to meet collection requirements
- Process Satellite and UAV sensor data (optical (EO), Infrared (IR), Multispectral (MS), LIDAR, SAR) using Remote Sensing techniques to identify and capture features of interest and create information products.
- Analyse Electro-Optical imagery using ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance) techniques to identify points of interest and annotate in HALO’s information management system.
- Conduct quality control checks of collected data and submit into HALO’s information management systems.
- Collaborate with other operations departments to develop remote sensing capture and processing capabilities.

- University degree in Remote Sensing, GIS, Computer Science, or related fields; OR equivalent, relevant experience analysing imagery (including military or intelligence contexts)
