Danish Refugee Council (DRC)is an international non-governmental organization that promotes and supports long-term solutions to the challenges faced by refugees and internally displaced people worldwide.

DRB will continue to implement its suite of long-term solutions to meet changing circumstances.

DRB is currently seeking a Manager ensuring and managing the Code of Conduct.

General purpose of the position:

The Manager of Security and Code of Conduct leads and manages the unit with Security and Code of Conduct (consisting of two full-time specialists and 30 volunteer coordinators across the country), which plays a central role in building a culture of zero tolerance for misconduct within the framework of the activities of DRC and its partners in Ukraine.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Create and strengthen the Code of Conduct Reporting Mechanism (CRC) in Ukraine, in consultation with all levels of the organization;
  • Implementation of protection principles on at all levels of the organization in Ukraine, both in the implementation of programs and in support functions, especially in the HR department, to support the process of improvement and prevention of PSEAH through sound HR policies and practices, including incorporating PSEAH standards into interviews and onboarding materials, and training courses for DRC and related staff;
  • < li>External interaction and representation, as necessary, on matters of protection, interagency mechanisms and internal investigations;
  • Leadership in the adaptation and contextualization of Code of Conduct policies and resource plans, conducting and supporting the distribution of trainings with PSEAH and information sessions on the Code of Conduct for DRC Ukraine employees, local partners and persons under the competence of the Response Team;
  • Regularly inform the top management of Ukraine about the Code conduct and prevention of related risks or critical incidents, as well as mitigation measures, and prepare draft country reports on the Code of Conduct;
  • Participate in special events dedicated to the promotion of PSEAH and of organizational ethics in the Ukrainian office;
  • Cooperate and coordinate work with relevant program teams and MEAL teams in order to ensurethe principle of accountability to the affected population in Ukraine.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we expect you to you will have a significant previous work experience in the field of human rights protection, with systems of codes of conduct in a managerial position or in a similar position in an international NGO. We expect you to be a passionate advocate for safeguarding principles and a work culture that has zero tolerance for misconduct. In addition, we also expect the following from you:

  • At least 5 years of experience in safeguarding, code of conduct or similar work in an INGO;
  • At least 3 years of management experience staff;
  • Proven experience in capacity building and training of national staff and local partners;
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to speak fluently on sensitive topics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with staff and partner organizations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and interest in protection issues, as well as sensitivity to cultural diversity, equality, inclusion and gender issues.
  • Proven experience in conducting trainings on ethics, protection and accountability.
  • Strong communicator with proven ability to represent the international NGO approach to the Code of Conduct/Protection/Accountability in high-level groups and forums.
  • Master's degree from a recognized institution required in international development/development studies, international relations, economics, political science/public relations, business administration or management, or another relevant field industry.

We offer:

  • Contract: 12 months after passingtrial period (3 months).
  • Level: F1 – administrative
  • Place of duties: Kyiv (with regular business trips, approximately 50% of the time)
  • Start date:January 2025
