Project HOPE in Ukraine Private Funded Program Portfolio is focused on next major components:

  • Equipment, Pharma, Medical Supply for Primary, Secondary and Tertiary health facilities 
  • Capacity building for the health care workers including specialized training programs.
  • Support in renovation of Health care facilities and other crucial community facilities to strengthen community resilience and decrease workload on other health facilities. 
  • Improving IPC/WASH standards within Health Facilities and facilities serving affected population
  • Supporting establishment of Mobile Medical Units with Ukraine Health system to establish better access to healthcare services to affected populations and vulnerable groups. 
  • Strengthening community cohesion and resilience with big influx of IDPs
  • MHPSS support to health care workers and affected population and vulnerable groups
  • Emergency Response to healthcare needs in case of crisis escalation   

Position Purpose 

Research & Grants Coordinator/Manager play a pivotal role in craftingcompelling proposals for projects spanning health, protection, livelihoods,recovery, and direct humanitarian aid, including Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
(WASH), Shelter/Non-Food Items (NFIs), and other vital areas. The Research& Grants Coordinator/ Manager in Ukraine ensures that all program decisionsare well informed and adjusted to the up-to-date context.Provides operational support in the private funded programs of Project HOPE,is responsible for collecting information and data necessary for programsconcepts development and reports preparation for donors and PH seniormanagement, collects and analyzes external reports, information disseminatedon humanitarian coordination meetings and information from relevantgovernment bodies which can help improve programs decision-making.

Ability to travel internationally is preferable

Main Responsibilities 

  • Writing project proposals in the areas of Health, Protection, Livelihoods, Recovery, Direct Humanitarian Aid (WASH, Shelter/NFIs) 
  • Research and identify funding prospects for Project HOPE to inform when best to make approaches. 
  • Research and identify Institutional Donors 
  • Research, monitor and evaluate issues that are of interest to donors. 
  • Research of current legal and legislative structure that regulates problems and topics of the Donor calls for proposals. 
  • Provide strategic and proactive proposal writing expertise to Project HOPE members. • Write high quality concept notesand full grant applications which are effective in securing funds from governmental and private donor. 
  • Maintain currency of knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations and procedures, disseminate and/or present changes to departments and advises on the implementation of changes and on the impact of changes on funded operations. 
  • Learns the requirements of Donors and provides narrative reports according to the requirements.

 Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in directly relevant area required, Master’s degree preferred, additional legal background will be an asset, experience in writing grant proposals or sections thereof under the direction of the Lead Writer 

Years of Experience: 

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience is required. 
  • Experience in working and negotiating with Corporate Donors and International Charitable Foundations is highly desirable

Technical Skills : 

  • Project management skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (advanced skills).
  • Proficiency with computers both in word processing and data gathering spreadsheet programs, with presentation and report writing capability.
  • Strong coordination and interpersonal communication skills

Experience with Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or other donor databases is desirable.

Language: Ukrainian – fluent; Russian – fluent. Fluency in English and excellent writing skills are required. Minimum English requirement: B2/C1
