DRB is currently looking for a project specialist on social and legal protectionfor its activities in m. Slavic.
General purpose of the role:
Under the leadership of the head of the social and legal protection project team, the social and legal protection project specialist is responsible for coordinating and leading the implementation of quality monitoring activities protection, information sessions and transmission of key messages, identification and support of persons at risk, as well as activities in the field of social and legal protection at the community level. You will work closely with communities, civil society organizations (CSOs) and government services to identify vulnerable people in need of support, carry out service mapping and share information about available services. The place of work will be in the office of the DRB in Slovyansk, with trips in Donetsk region. >
Your main responsibilities languages will be:
- Lead program activities related to monitoring activities in the sphere of social -legal protection, such as facilitating focus group discussions, key informant interviews and household surveys
- Support in the development of social and legal protection monitoring tools and monthly plans in cooperation with the head of the social protection and social protection manager.
- Carry out service mapping to identify available services in communities. Establish and maintain relationships with relevant government and non-government service providers to provide safe referrals.
- Identify social protection risks and monitoring needs in identified areas and communicate with the Social Protection Head and Social Security Manager - legal protection against such risks and needs.
- Ensure the collection of quantitative and qualitative information and data, using various social and legal protection monitoring tools.
- Coordinate work with colleagues from the information management department and actively participate in the analysis of collected information and data.
- Organize and conduct outreach activities, including the dissemination of key messages, distribution of information materials, and conducting information sessions adapted to needs identified during monitoring in the field of social and legal protection.
- Conduct assessments of particularly vulnerable persons or persons with specific risks in the field of protection to provide individual assistance in the field of protection and redirection.
- Conduct regular meetings of initiative groups/networks at the community level and assist in the development of "community action plans" to address issues in the field of social and legal protection.
- Build the capacity of local actors and key community members on key issues, such as mainstreaming issues of social and legal protection and safe referrals.
- Contribute to improving the quality of community-oriented DPR activities by effectively identifying and coordinating work with stakeholders, key respondents and community members.
- li>Engage and build strong relationships with communities through consistent engagement with community structures and adherence to culturally and dignity-sensitive approaches.
- Support structures at the community level by facilitating constructive group dialogue and mentoring participants to self-identify problems in the field of protection that affect their communities.
- To monitor the work of junior specialists on issues of social and legal protection and to ensure the quality of their activities.
- To establish and maintain coordination with local authorities, local and international non-governmental organizations when necessary;
- Coordinate work with other DRB departments with the aim of facilitating referral and information exchange.
- Participate in the preparation of proposals for financing new projects and provide information related to related to field work.
- Provide regular reports to the Social Protection Project Team Leader and/or Social Protection Manager.
- Any other duties, which may be appointed by the head of the social and legal protection department and/or the social and legal protection manager, which are related to the achievement of social and legal protection goals.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have minimum 1 year of experience working with vulnerable and conflict-affected people.< /p>
In addition, we are also expecting the following
- Ability to speak on sensitive topics and work with people in difficult situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with vulnerable individuals, staff and interested parties from differentexperience.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
- High level of personal integrity and understanding of confidentiality and ethics.
>- Experience with Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of the English language is desirable.
- Knowledge of the Ukrainian language is mandatory.< /li>
- Education required: Bachelor's degree in relevant field (eg social sciences, international relations, humanities) or equivalent work experience
