As part of our 2030 strategy, we continue to carry out inclusive humanitarian activities, supporting the elderly and their families in times of crisis.

Crisis in Ukraine

HelpAge has been operating in Ukraine since 2014. Our team consists of more than 800 people, including employees, volunteers and contractors.  Our response plan includes cash assistance, distribution of food and non-food items, health and dignity kits, hygiene and care products, support in accessing health services, care, psychological and psychosocial first aid.

Main responsibilities:

  • coordinating the work of a team of social workers in accordance with the criteria for project performance, goals and objectives of the project;
  • organization of interaction with local authorities, social and medical institutions, public organizations, international humanitarian organizations;
  • ensuring the provision of services provided for by the project to beneficiaries;
  • control of involvement new beneficiaries of the project by social workers in accordance with the criteria of vulnerabilities;
  • ensuring that the beneficiaries of the project are informed through social workers about the presence services and assistance for the population affected by the conflict (medical, psychological, legal, social), which can be obtained from partner organizations and other institutions;
  • provision of timely and accurate reports on activities and all necessary documentation;
  • >
  • forming and maintaining a database of beneficiaries and/or project activities;
  • holding working meetings with social workers to plan activities and resolve organizational issues issues;
  • ensuring control over the delivery of humanitarian aid to project beneficiaries and reportingentities from distribution;
  • timely informing the manager about problems or force majeure circumstances that have arisen in the project and may interfere with its implementation;
  • collection of information and photos for writing success stories and various studies within the framework of the project;
  • participation in trainings and other educational events that increase the level of knowledge regarding communication and assistance to the elderly, organized by the Representation and others organizations.

Basic requirements:

  • higher education in the field of social work or related fields;
  • at least one year of work experience in national or international non-governmental organizations in the humanitarian field or in national social services;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills skills.

Preferred:

  • presence of training or experience in social work;
  • work experience with the elderly and/or people with disabilities;
  • knowledge of international humanitarian standards.

Therefore, you are also responsiblefor:

- preventing harm and abuse from our people, operations and programs to everyone who comes into contact with our work;

- timely reporting of all security incidents you see, hear about, hear about or suspect using our internal reporting mechanism;

- compliance with all security policies and practices;

- completion of mandatory training courses related to related to our security policy, and compliance with personnel screening procedures.
