Lead Team IT
Our client, a company with a reliable reputation in the market of wholesale food supplies in Ukraine and also unites four legally separate, but similar businesses, invites a Project Manager to its team. Currently, the business is in an active phase of automation and optimization of internal processes, and approximately 90% of this load falls on the IT department. The team has a large, accumulated backlog of tasks, which current resources do not have time to close, despite the fact that there are no problems with developers as such - the staff is planned to be expanded. The key deficit is precisely in strong project management.
The key task of the future PM in the first 3-6 months is to establish a systematic order in development: to build a clear planning process, prioritize support and optimization tasks, organize correct work with backlog, estimates, deadlines, retrospectives and daily transparent work of the team. Now the team is "putting out fires" - a large number of support tasks consumes almost the entire capacity, due to which the business has not received strategic optimizations that directly affect the company's efficiency for several months.
Technically, the main product is an ERP system, currently based on Odoo (ODNS), with a subsequent transition to a new ERP by the end of the year. A large number of API integrations between companies, internal registries and services are provided. That is why it is critical for the client that the PM has real experience of working with ERP systems and Odoo or similar solutions, and not just a general IT background.
The composition of the team at the moment: business analyst, two part-time developers, two full-time developers, at least one more full-time engineer is planned, in the future - QA. There is no formal tech lead yet: one of the part-time developers could potentially grow into this role, but not anytime soon due to busy schedules and the need for deep onboarding. Therefore, the PM must be independent enough to keep the processes going without constant reliance on the team leader.
The company offers a hybrid work format — at least 2 days a week in the office, which is a basic condition. An important big plus is the possibility of booking, provided there is no active search and correct documents (reserve+). Booking is possible immediately after the candidate leaves, without waiting for the end of the trial period.
