Position Description
The MHPSS Project Officer will support the management and coordination of the MHPSS workstream in Resilient Populations component, liaising with partners, monitoring results, and providing technical assistance in developing sub-projects aimed at achieving the program’s objectives.
The Resilient Populations project aims to strengthen the resilience of Ukrainian society by creating an inclusive and supportive environment for the socio-economic integration of targeted population groups, including veterans, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons, the elderly, and youth.
The project’s activities are focused on eliminating systemic barriers that hinder their full integration at both the national and local levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of MHPSS activities according to the project work plan, ensuring alignment with technical standards and deadlines.
- Participate in the preparation of grant applications, concept notes, and project proposals.
- Preparing and updating work plans, reports, and other documents.
- Monitoring task execution and evaluating the effectiveness of activities.
- Engaging with partners, beneficiaries, government institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Organising meetings, events, training sessions, and working groups.
- Managing internal and external communications and reporting on project progress.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial reports.
- Maintaining documentation and adhering to reporting procedures.
- Preparing regular analytical and technical reports on project implementation.
- Participating in technical meetings, presentations, and seminars.
- Traveling to regions for project monitoring as needed.
- Providing administrative and logistical support to the management, including meeting planning, coordinating travel arrangements, and facilitating communication between team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry is required.
- Minimum of three years of experiencein implementing mental health projects or working directly in the field of mental health and psychosocial support
- Knowledge of IASC MHPSS tools, guidelines and recommendations.
- Experience working with local organisations, including government entities and civil society is required.
- Experience in drafting project reports, donor reports, and grant applicationsis required.
- Completion of mhGAP, Psychological First Aid (PFA), or Self-Help+ certificationis highly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team (both in-person and remotely).
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English.
Location
This is a full-time, office-based position in Kyiv. Remote work is possible with managerial approval.
Reporting
The MHPSS Project Officer reports directly to the MHPSS Project Manager and coordinates work with other PFRU team members as needed.
