Position Description
The MHPSS Project Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the MHPSS workstream under Resilient Populations project, liaising with partners, monitoring results, and providing technical assistance in developing sub-projects aimed at achieving the program’s objectives.
The Resilient Populations project aims to strengthen the resilience of Ukrainian society by creating an inclusive and supportive environment for the socio-economic integration of targeted population groups, including veterans, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons, the elderly, and youth.
The project’s activities focus on eliminating systemic barriers that hinder their full integration at both the national and local levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and overseeing MHPSS project implementation in line with established goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Developing a detailed work plan, managing risks, and monitoring project effectiveness.
- Ensuring that project activities comply with the requirements of international financial partners.
- Collaborating with government institutions, international financial partners, civil society, and the private sector.
- Organising meetings, negotiations, and consultations with stakeholders.
- Preparing analytical materials and recommendations for the development of social and economic integration programs for targeted groups.
- Designing sub-project concepts that contribute to the achievement of the programme’s objectives.
- Analysing the needs of target groups and developing solutions to overcome integration barriers.
- Preparing technical documentation, budgets, and work plans.
- Monitoring key performance indicators and preparing reports.
- Coordinating procurement, logistics, and other administrative processes.
- Ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements for donors.
- Traveling to regions for project monitoring as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Clinical Psychology is required.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) sector within international humanitarian organizations, stabilization programs, or international technical assistance programs is required.
- Strong knowledge ofIASC MHPSS guidelines, tools, and international MHPSS standards.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with and implementing MHPSS projects alongside government institutions, civil society organizations, and community structures is required.
- Solid understanding ofUkraine’s mental health system and current socio-political context is required.
- Strong knowledge of MHPSS coordination mechanisms is required.
- Proven experiencein designing, managing, and implementing MHPSS projects.
- Experience working with international donors, funds, or organisations.
- Understanding of grant financing processes and donor requirements.
- Strong ability to establish effective communication with partners.
- Analytical thinking and strategic planning skills.
- Understanding of Ukraine’s current political, economic, social, and cultural dynamics.
- Ability to work effectively in a team (both in-person and remotely).
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English.
Location
This is a full-time, office-based position in Kyiv. Remote work is possible with managerial approval.
Reporting
The MHPSS Project Manager reports directly to the Head of the Resilient Populations Project and coordinates work with other PFRU team members as needed.
