  • The Dnipro sub-office of UN Women, established in 2023, strengthens its presence in the eastern regions and covers Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Poltava, Donetsk, Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The office plays a programmatic role and also supports coordination, representation, security issues and field presence.

Role
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Dnipro Sub-Office, you will provide administrative, coordination and operational support to the implementation of UN Women programs in designated areas of Eastern Ukraine, assisting with partnerships, monitoring, reporting and knowledge management.

Responsibilities

1) Support the implementation of programs/portfolios

  • Administrative and operational support for the implementation of program and project activities in accordance with the Strategic Note UN Women Ukraine 2025–2029 and approved work plans.

  • Collection of contributions and preparation of drafts of narrative progress reports, results frameworks, as well as data to track costs for internal and donor reporting.

  • Maintaining up-to-date records/files on activities, deliverables, risks and issues in accordance with UN Women procedures.

2) Coordination with partners and support of partnerships

  • Maintaining regular communication with partners, authorities, CSOs, UN agencies, donors and others stakeholders on program issues.

  • Organization of coordination meetings/briefings and follow-up actions: meeting notes, summaries, action points.

  • Supporting the work of Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA) Working Groups in eastern Ukraine: assistance in updating workplans and budgets, support for the implementation of activities, monitoring/evaluation and documentation of lessons learned together with co-chairs.

  • Collection of background information and data for partnerships and resource mobilization: research, contributions to concept notes, donor briefs, funding proposals; internal tracking of opportunities and contacts with donors.

  • Collection of information about the needs of partners in capacity building and organizational support of trainings/workshops/mentoring activities.

3) Monitoring, reporting and documentation

  • Collection/systematization of data and supporting documents for monitoring, reporting and evaluations.

  • Tracking implementation of activities related to approved plans.

  • Support review and consolidation of narrative and financial reports of partners for completeness and compliance with requirements.

  • Preparation of contributions and data for Country Office / Regional / HQ reporting.

4) Administrative support

  • Logistics support forteams and missions: business trips, meetings, organization of visits.

  • Maintenance of administrative records in corporate systems and shared drives with correct filing.

  • Organization of events/meetings/missions (logistics, materials, participants).

  • Follow-up of administrative action points, internal coordination with operations and others subdivisions.

  • Assistance in updating procurement/spending plans, budgets and expenditure plans for projects.

5) Knowledge management, advocacy and communications

  • Documentation of good practices and lessons learned.

  • Support in the organization of advocacy events, trainings, knowledge-sharing activities.

  • Collection and organization of content for visibility materials together with the communication team.

  • Help in the preparation and distribution of communication materials (newsletters, social networks, press releases).

  • Fixation of key issues for working groups/clusters; data collection (surveys, databases, interviews).

  • Initial desk reviews/literature reviews on GEWE topics; participation in the collection and basic analysis of project data with proper file maintenance.

Requirements

  • Education: master’s degree in human rights/law/gender studies/business or public administration/international relations/management/social or political science or related areas.

  • Experience: minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the areas of human rights, gender equality, women's empowerment (GEWE) or related areas.

  • Experience in supporting the implementation of projects/initiatives in the field of GEWE (preferably in an international/UN environment).

  • Knowledge of women's CSOs/networks and practices of involving civil society and meaningful participation of women is an advantage.

  • Experience of interaction with state and non-state stakeholders at the national/subnational level is a plus.

  • Experience in supporting advocacy/communications, analytics, documentation or capacity building in GEWE topics is an advantage.

  • Languages: Ukrainian and English - fluent.

  • Strong skills of coordination, writing, organizing processes and working with deadlines; technological literacy.

We offer (volunteering, with UNV payments)

  • Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): 1690 USD/month (equivalent in UAH).

  • Entry lump sum: 350 USD (one time).

  • Medical and life insurance for the duration of the contract.

  • Vacations in accordance with UN Volunteers policies.

  • Full-time, 9 months (01/04/2026–31/12/2026), with the possibility of extension if necessary.
