Python GIS Engineer (Geospatial Data Pipelines)

Proftrans is looking for a Python GIS Engineer to join its internal R&D team. We are building an automated system for assessing the quality of cartographic data: auto-matching map content with several ground truth sources and calculating standardized quality KPIs with further visualization in services/dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Development of GIS/spatial pipelines in Python

• Implementation and improvement of auto-matching algorithms for comparing map data

• Optimization of performance and stability of data-heavy workflow

• Maintaining the quality of metrics (accuracy/reliability), participation in technical improvements

• Interaction with the team regarding requirements and metric

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial Python experience

• Understanding of GIS/spatial concepts (projections, geometry, topology)

• Experience with GeoPandas / Shapely / GDAL (or analogs)

• Experience with large datasets

• Confident SQL

• English Upper-Intermediate+

Will be a plus

• Map data processing / navigation systems

• Building data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
