Python GIS Engineer (Geospatial Data Pipelines)
Proftrans is looking for a Python GIS Engineer to join its internal R&D team. We are building an automated system for assessing the quality of cartographic data: auto-matching map content with several ground truth sources and calculating standardized quality KPIs with further visualization in services/dashboards.
Responsibilities
Development of GIS/spatial pipelines in Python
Implementation and improvement of auto-matching algorithms for comparing map data
Optimization of performance and stability of data-heavy workflow
Maintaining the quality of metrics (accuracy/reliability), participation in technical improvements
Interaction with the team regarding requirements and metric
Requirements
3+ years of commercial Python experience
Understanding of GIS/spatial concepts (projections, geometry, topology)
Experience with GeoPandas / Shapely / GDAL (or analogs)
Experience with large datasets
Confident SQL
English Upper-Intermediate+
Will be a plus
Map data processing / navigation systems
Building data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
Remote-first work format
