The International Charitable Foundation "Caritas of Ukraine"is looking for a - Community Work Manager for the project "Side by Side: psychosocial support of veterans and their members" families".


The project is aimed at providing psychosocial support to veterans, members of their families, families of dead, captured, active servicemen and missing soldiers. Social adaptation of target groups will be covered by targeted support of the following specialists: case manager, lawyer, psychologist, child psychologist and community facilitator. Adult and child psychologists will provide individual and group counseling, and a veteran facilitator will lead peer-to-peer groups both on-site and during community visits. Retreats will be organized to strengthen team spirit and social interaction.

Duties:

  • Conducting intervention work meetings with veteran facilitators.
  • Coordinating communication with teams involved in community work, as well as peer-to-peer groups.
  • Determining the training needs of veteran facilitators and summarizing relevant requests.
  • Attending national events related to veterans, military families and services for them, at the national and local levels.
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperation with civil society organizations, religious organizations, local communities and others stakeholders in the topic of supporting veterans.
  • Participation in working groups related to services for veterans and families of military personnel, at the organizational level and at the external level.
  • Providing consultations on issues of interaction in the field of veteran policy.
  • Development and implementation of approaches focused on the integration of veterans in the programs and projects of the Caritas network of Ukraine.
  • Preparation of profile projects for support veterans.

Requirements:

  • Higher education (psychological, pedagogical, social or other related specialty).
  • Experience of working in the public sector or non-profit organizations.
  • Experience of participating in combat operations (veterans will be preferred).
  • Understanding of the "peer-to-peer" methodology.
  • Willingness to work in the field of support and accompaniment of veterans and families of military personnel.
  • Fluent command of the Ukrainian language, English (preferred).
  • Knowledge of programs (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, search engines, Internet, etc.).
  • Preparation skills (PowerPoint, Canva or other programs).

Required personal qualities and skills:

  • Empathy and sensitivity to the experience of veterans and their families.
  • Developed communication skills.
  • Resilience to stress and emotional self-regulation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Facilitation and mediation skills.
