Lawyer of the mobile medical team
Lawyer strong> will work under the direct supervision of the Project staff (Project Management Specialist, Project Manager) and be part of the mobile medical team working in Chernihiv region.
He/She will provide legal recommendations, advice and consultations on legal issues faced by recipients of assistance (loss of documents, assistance in obtaining official status of a person with a disability, assistance in obtaining access to social benefits or payments provided by the state, etc.). In particular, on social protection issues, where possible, he/she will intervene, provide referral recommendations and facilitate next steps.
In addition, the lawyer will help standardize the dissemination of information and actively contribute to the implementation of humedica's program strategies by defining legal risks and needs of the target group, as well as offering effective solutions to overcome them.
Responsibilities and responsibility
Direct provision of services
- Offer, within the project, information exchange and referral services to aid recipients, resolving specific legal issues questions and problems.
- Conduct group information sessions for beneficiaries, providing accurate and timely information about their rights and available remedies.
- Provide personal legal consultations as part of a mobile medical team, taking into account the individual needs of clients, offering professional advice on legal issues and helping clients overcome legal obstacles.
- Providing legal assistance and managing the cases of the most vulnerable representatives of local host communities, including the preparation of legal documents and representation of clients in relevant authorities authorities.
- Development of informational materials for beneficiaries covering topics such as family law, housing, documentation, labor market, social benefits and protection health.
- Promote close cooperation with colleagues from the non-governmental sector to define and implement effective cross-sectoral assistance strategies.
- Cooperate with project staff on the analysis of legal issues, participate in the preparation of information and advocacy materials.
- Support the implementation of legal monitoring and advocacy initiatives as part of the humedica field office staff, facilitating and ensuring further control over incoming and outgoing cases that need to be redirected to protection.
Other measures implemented within the framework of the project
- Compileperiodic reports on number of clients assisted, types of assistance provided and most frequent issues raised by clients for further program planning and strategy development.
- Maintain client tracking system using humedica available tools and software, and in accordance with humedica policy and national data protection guidelines.
- Participate in relevant program team meetings and planning sessions.
- Coordinate closely with others by program colleagues, effective approaches to support clients who require cross-sectoral assistance.
- Contribute to the development of inclusive information and communication materials, both print and digital, to facilitate a wider reach of clients with different needs and abilities to perceive information .
- Participate in other planning and program management processes at the request of the project manager.
- Coordinate work with all interested parties (local authorities, justice bodies, NGOs, etc.) in the Chernihiv region in order to ensure the effective provision of legal services.
- Participate in relevant coordination meetings at the sub-regional level at the request of the head.

- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism when working or coordinating with care recipients, their family members and by all internal and external parties.
- Proactively and thoroughly adhere to humedica standards and policies and promote humanitarian response approaches and models among relevant stakeholders.

< p>Education / qualifications- Master's degree in law, jurisprudence, human rights or related disciplines.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in legal aid/protection projects.
- In-depth understanding of the legal framework of Ukraine, best legal practices and ethical standards for the provision of legal services.
- Prior experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or international non-governmental organizations is desirable (MNEO) is desirable. Experience working with VPO is very useful.
- Experience in working with computer software (MS Access, MS Excel, Kobo toolbox) is desirable.
- Experience in conducting group classes, workshops and individual counseling for different population groups who need it.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and to facilitate teamwork in a multicultural environment.
