General information 

FHI 360 is implementing a nutrition program to help pregnant and breastfeeding women , in the field of feeding infants and young children, as well as building the capacity of medical institutions to provide high-quality breastfeeding consulting services. FHI 360 is implementing this project in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

Detailed description of tasks to be performed:

Under the technical supervision of the nutrition program specialist, the breastfeeding consultant carries out measures to increase the potential of medical workers of state health care institutions (specialists responsible for feeding infants and young children) by conducting training on the ground and providing mentoring support; if necessary, provides professional consultations on feeding infants and young children for pregnant and breastfeeding women; provides assistance to women in the format of online consultations and through messengers (in particular, with the help of Telegram application); participates in basic training for medical workers in feeding infants and young children (in particular, obstetricians, gynecologists, neonatologists, nurses and midwives), and also provides mentoringідтримку після тренінгів; координує діяльність волонтерів програм з громадського здоров’я в громадах з метою перенаправлення породілей для отримання професійних консультацій та подальшого супроводу.

Серед заходів, які здійснюватиме Консультант з грудного вигодовування, такі:

• Нарощувати потенціал фахівців, відповідальних за годування немовлят і дітей раннього віку у кожному медзакладі, залученому до проєкту, у наданні високоякісних консультацій з грудного вигодовування шляхом проведення регулярних начальних заходів і надання наставницької підтримки (в онлайн- і офлайн-форматах).
• Проводити індивідуальні консультації та групові консультації з питань грудного вигодовування, введення прикорму, годування сумішами для вагітних жінок і породілей у закладах ОЗ, згідно з «Оперативними настановами для персоналу з надзвичайних ситуацій та керівників програм годування немовлят та дітей раннього віку під час надзвичайних ситуацій», «Міжнародним кодексом маркетингу замінників грудного молока», «Гуманітарною хартією та мінімальними стандартами при наданні гуманітарної допомоги» SPHERE. Надавати базову, неспеціалізовану й не клінічну психологічну допомогу в межах консультацій.
• Відповідати за перенаправлення вагітних жінок і жінок, які годують груддю, які потребують психологічної підтримки, від закладів охорони здоров’я, залучених до проєкту, до психологів FHI 360 або інших схвалених постачальників послуг. Забезпечувати включення тем, пов’язаних із психічним здоров’ям, у консультації, що проводяться фахівцями, відповідальними за годування немовлят і дітей раннього віку, у закладах охорони здоров’я.
• Визначати прогалини у наданні консультаційних послуг у сфері грудного вигодовування в закладах охорони здоров’я, яким надається підтримка, надавати FHI 360 рекомендації щодо їх усунення, зокрема, щодо просторів матері й дитини й іншої операційної допомоги.
• Відповідати за збір даних щодо консультування з питань грудного вигодовування у закладах ОЗ, яким надається допомога, вносити їх до відповідних інструментів збору даних (зокрема, на платформу Kobo).
• Відповідати за забезпечення закладів охорони здоров’я наборами для консультування з питань грудного вигодовування, інформаційними й просвітницькими матеріалами про грудне вигодовування, матеріалами з логотипами організації тощо.
• Брати участь у проведенні  тренінгів для медпрацівників з питань годування немовлят і дітей раннього віку в надзвичайних ситуаціях (ГНДРВ у НС), здійснювати візити до медзакладів з метою надання наставницької підтримки після навчання та моніторингу впровадження послуг з ГНДРВ.
• Забезпечувати запровадження механізмів перенаправлення жінок, визначених волонтерами програм з громадського здоров’я, які працюють в громадах, для отримання професійних консультацій з грудного вигодовування в онлайн- або офлайн-форматах.
• Забезпечувати дотримання Порядку виконання штатних операційних процедур, прийнятого в FHI 360, в процесі експлуатації та управління діяльністю просторів матері й дитини в закладах охорони здоров’я.
• Брати участь в оцінюванні потреб в допомозі у сфері food in health care facilities and communities in their service area. 
• Compile and submit weekly activity reports to line manager
• Attend and actively participate in internal nutrition programs department meetings, trainings and seminars.

Place of performance of professional tasks: 

 The consultant will carry out his activities in the organization's designated facilities in the region of the consultant's base location (both urban and rural). FHI 360 will provide transportation for visits to health facilities located in rural areas outside of the base location.

Expected workload:220 days (possible extension).

Involvement period:< /strong>  November 1, 2024 - August 31, 2025

Type of contract: General (framework) contract for the provision of services (GDNP).

Required:

• Qualification of a midwife, nurse, doctor, doula or certified breastfeeding consultant.
• Fluency in the Ukrainian language.
• li>
• 0-2 years of experience in the direct provision of medical services.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to comply with confidentiality requirements when working with patients and beneficiaries.

Preferably:

• Certificate to provide breastfeeding counseling.
• Awareness of "Operational Guidelines for Emergency Personnel and Infant and Young Child Feeding Program Managers in Emergencies situations", "Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards for the Provision of Humanitarian Aid" (SPHERE), "International Code of Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes" and relevant resolutions adopted on their basis.
• Experience of direct provision of medical services.
• li>
• Excellent communication skills, the ability to show empathy.
• Training/certification in the field of PPSPS, previous experience in providing psychological assistance within the scope of consulting with GNDRV in emergency situations will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in English will be an advantage.
• Willingness and desire to help affected communities and representatives of vulnerable population groups.

Selection criteria:

FHI 360 will evaluate proposals from consultants that meet the mandatory requirements according to the following criteria 

• Applications that do not meet the mandatory qualification requirements will not be considered. 
• Degree of compliance with mandatory qualification requirements (40%). 
• Degree of compliance with additional qualification requirements (10%).
