About the job:

Junior specialist of the project on the economic development of the urban area will provide support in the implementation measures to restore the city economy. He/she will work closely with communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and government agencies to identify vulnerable individuals in need of support.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Implement program activities to restore the city economy, including, but not limited to, providing grants and building the capacity of micro and small businesses and supporting access to decent employment.
  • Contribute to improving the quality of DRB's community-oriented approach by effectively identifying stakeholders, key informants and community members and coordinating efforts with them.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant public, private and non-governmental service providers, as well as other subjects in the field of project implementation.
  • Identify needs for economic recovery within the boundaries of the defined territories and providing information to the Head of the economic recovery group. Collection of both quantitative and qualitative information and data for program development and implementation.
  • Organize and conduct outreach outreach activities, including dissemination of key messages, distribution of information and training materials, and conduct of information sessions tailored to identified needs.
  • Initiate and establish strong ties with communities through consistent interaction with public structures and adherence to the principles of dignity and a culturally sensitive approach.
  • Frequent coordination of actions with the team of the Department of Economic of Rural Development to share information and lessons learned and ensure coherence of economic recovery programs.
  • Coordinate efforts with other DRB departments to facilitate effective referrals and information sharing.
  • Perform any other assignments from the Head of the project group and/or the Manager of the Department of Economic Development, which relate to the achievement of goals related to economic recovery.

About You

Required:

  • Relevant education (e.g. in international development or economics)
  • Interest in business development and creating employment opportunities for vulnerable populations.
  • Skills talk about sensitive topics and work with people in distress.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with vulnerable populations, employees and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and life experiences .
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize work and handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong sense of personal integrity and understanding of privacy and ethics.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems.
  • Fluency in the Ukrainian language.

Preferred:

  • Previous work experience in a similar position.
  • Understanding business development and market linkages.
  • Awareness in the field of business grants.

  • Proficiency in English.

Wages and working conditions will be in accordance with the Conditions of Employment of National Staff of the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine.
