DRB has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRB has more than 800 employees in Ukraine and in 2024 the organization will continue a significant expansion to implement emergency response in the areas of social and legal protection, livelihoods, recovery housing/non-food goods, humanitarian disarmament and peace building (humanitarian mine action), through direct intervention, support civil society organizations (CSOs) and partnerships with CSOs.
DRC is currently looking for a junior housing restoration project specialist to work in the city of Sumy with frequent business trips within the Sumy region.
This position will report to the Project Team Leader with restoration of the housing of the DRB office in the city of Sumy.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Community communication and accountability
- Work with other team members to consult with residents and local authorities before carrying out improvements to buildings and structures.
- Preparation of letters-inquiries/answers (or any correspondence) to authorities, self-government bodies, other NGOs.
Main areas of protection
- Focus on accessibility and special needs of vulnerable populations.
Program and operational activities
< li>Ensure effective and efficient implementation of the program while adhering to the budget and work plan. - Provide comprehensive support and contribute to all activities related to the implementation of housing restoration projects.
- Communication with beneficiaries - preliminary agreements regarding any meetings with them for evaluation, performance of works, signing of any documents provided for by the program. Provide the beneficiaries with all the necessary information regarding the activities of the DRB, carry out explanatory work regarding the order and composition of the works, receive feedback and convey information about the state of affairs to the engineer and the head of the department, respond through the system of the response mechanism to complaints and feedback.
- Participate in expert assessment of damages (photo fixation). Register beneficiaries, request and submit copies of all necessary documents by filling in the database (KOBO tool).
- Process, supplement, analyze and upload the entries to the database for the further formation of various types of reports at the request of the manager.

- Preparation and signature of consent to the processing of personal data, conclusion of contracts with beneficiaries.
- Visit of households with an engineer for final verification of completed works and volumes. Participate in the preparation of Acts of completed works and their signing with the beneficiaries. Monitoring the performance of works, collecting feedback from beneficiaries.
Coordination and representation
- Represent the housing restoration department at any which coordination meetings of different levels.
Security and llogistics
- Observe the approved work schedule and the rules of the organization's Code of Conduct.
- Observe the safety rules at the facilities.
- Participate in the planning of visits to facilities.
Required experience and competencies:
- University education: higher education.
- Work experience: 2 + years of professional experience.
- Languages: fluent Ukrainian, a sufficient level of English is desirable.
- Computer literacy: confident user of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- It is desirable to have experience in social work. Comfortable talking about sensitive topics and working with people in distress.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with vulnerable individuals and stakeholders from various walks of life.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong sense of personal integrity and understanding of confidentiality and ethics.
- Personal discipline, punctuality, responsibility in decision-making, honesty, sociability.
