Capacity building officer in the Humanitarian Diplomacy Unit – a position which will be responsible for the capacity building portfolio for Humanitarian Diplomacy and Humanitarian Advocacy (HDHA) within URCS, as well contribute to the overall strategical implementation and strengthening of the Unit.  The overall and direct supervision and management of the Capacity Building Officer will be overseen by the Head of the Department of Strategic Partnerships and International Relations. 

As a Capacity Building Officer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating capacity building activities within the URCS.  Your role will involve conducting trainings and workshops, draft informative and educational materials, and communicate with various stakeholders (inside and outside the RCRC Movement) to enhance organizational capacity on HDHA. 

Essential Tasks: 

  • Comprehensive contribution to the Unit of Humanitarian Diplomacy.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and events for URCS staff and/or volunteers on HDHA and developing adequate methodology and technics.
  • Draft and compose educational and informative materials on HDHA to be disseminated to relevant URCS departments and Units, as well as partners.
  • Communicate and coordinate with relevant technical staff within URC, partners, and stakeholders on development of HDHA relevant tools for capacity building.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term capacity building strategies and initiatives that support the growth and development of the Unit and URCS in HDHA.
  • Preparation and submission of reporting documentation.
  • Participation in the development, improvement, and promotion of key advocacy narratives and documents among stakeholders.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of programs and initiatives based on the department's operational plan.
  • Communication management with NC URCS structural units, forming requests, and filling out technical documentation.

 

Additional Tasks:

  • oral and written translations (documents, events, meetings)
  • additional episodic responsibilities within Unit and/or Department assigned by the supervisor

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in fields related to humanitarian mission, public relations, international law, or similar fields. 
  • Master's degree in fields related to humanitarian mission, public relations, international law, or similar fields as plus
  • At least one year of work experience in humanitarian organizations, diplomatic institutions, governmental authorities, or other decision-making, advocacy, and diplomatic-related establishments.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and according to tight deadlines as plus
  • Good coordination and interpersonal skills as plus
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives and messaging to support advocacy efforts
  • Knowledge of diplomatic correspondence rules as plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • English language proficiency at B1B2 level.

TCHU is thousands of people all over Ukraine who make the world a better place every day. of Diplomacy- a position that will be responsible for the portfolio of capacity building for humanitarian diplomacy and humanitarian advocacy (HDHA) within the framework of the TCHU, as well as contribute to the overall strategic implementation and strengthening of the Division. General and direct supervision and direction of the Capacity Development Specialist will be overseen by the Head of Strategic Partnerships and International Relations.

As a Capacity Development Specialist, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of capacity development activities within the TCC. Your role will include conducting trainings and workshops, developing information and educational materials, and liaising with various stakeholders (within and outside the CH Movement) to build organizational capacity in relation to GDHA.

Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive contribution to the work of the Humanitarian Diplomacy Sector.
  • Organization and holding of trainings, seminars and events for the employees and/or volunteers of the UTCH on the issues of UGHA, as well as the development of relevant methods and technical tools.

  • Communication and coordination with relevant technical staff of UCCH, partners and stakeholders on the development of capacity-building tools related to GDHA.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term strategies and capacity-building initiatives that support growth and development of the Sector and UTCH in the field of the GDHA.
  • Preparation and submission of reporting documentation.
  • Participation in the development, improvement and promotion of key advocacy materials and documents among interested parties.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of programs and initiatives based on the operational plan of the department.
  • Communicating with structural subdivisions of the NTCH, formulating requests and filling out technical documentation.

Additional tasks:< /p>

  • Performance of additional episodic duties within the Sector and/or Department on the instructions of the manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of humanitarian work, public relations, international law or similar fields.
  • Master's degree in in the field of humanitarian activities, public relations, international law or similar fields (advantage).
  • Work experience for at least one year in humanitarian organizations, diplomatic institutions, government bodies or other institutions related to decision-making, advocacy and diplomacy.
