DRB has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRB has more than 800 employees in Ukraine and in 2023 the organization will continue to expand significantly to implement the response to emergency situations in the areas of social and legal protection, livelihoods, housing/non-food restoration, humanitarian disarmament and peace building (humanitarian mine action), through direct intervention, support civil society organizations (CSOs) and partnership with CSOs.

Main duties:

  • Assist in the implementation of safety risk management systems in the DRB (SRMS) under technical supervision.
  • Monitor information networks and accordingly update the "Traffic light system".
  • Proactively monitor MOSS and provide recommendations for improvement/implementation of major changes.
  • Conduct briefings and provide up-to-date information on the security team.

  • With the support of technical specialists, inform employees for whom English is non-native language, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), threat assessments, and other security policies.
  • Evaluate the potential impact of the changing context on DRB programmatic activities.
  • Build a network of local contacts to gain a deeper understanding of the context.
  • Provide support in on-site security assessments and identification of new office space, guest houses, warehouses and other facilities as needed. This may include regular safety audits such as checking fire extinguishers, safety supplies, first aid kits, emergency communications equipment, physical security elements (MOSS) etc.
  • Provide support in conducting security risk assessments (SRAs).
  • Conduct pre/post-arrival training for new employees (national and international).
  • Respond to incidents including IMT and CMT.
  • Provide management support an information portal on security issues in the DRB (SharePoint), ensuring its relevance, relevance and accessibility for a wide range of users.
  • Contribute to conducting security training for personnel.
  • Any other duties related to the nature of the work, as directed by the manager.

Required experience and competencies:

  • University education: higher education.
  • Work experience: 2+ years of professional experience.
  • Languages: a high level of English is desirable.
  • Computer gramQualifications: confident user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in the Ukrainian language, both written and spoken.

Salaries and conditions will be in accordance with the Conditions of Employment of the Danish Refugee Council's national staff.
