The representative office of HALO Trust in Ukraine is recruiting for the position of Information specialist of the information provision unit.
 
Please note that this vacancy involves a significant number of business trips throughout the country (up to 90% of working time). Please take this into account when applying.
 
 We are looking for motivated professionals who consciously choose to work in the humanitarian sector and understand its importance in the context of war. This is a role for active, responsible people who understand the importance of our mission, are able to work in a dynamic environment and are not afraid of the challenges associated with constant business trips, field work and interaction with different target groups. It is important to us that candidates are able to communicate with people of different ages and experiences, explain complex topics in an accessible manner, conduct informational events and trainings, listen carefully and at the same time adhere to procedures, standards and reporting requirements. We are looking for people who are able to build trust in communities and professionally represent the organization on the ground, in remote and affected settlements, who share our values and strive to contribute to reducing the consequences of hostilities for the civilian population.
Requirements for candidates for the position:

  • Previous work experience - at least one year (desired experience: conducting trainings, managing a team, sharing experience, educational activities, creation of training courses and creation of methodological materials, anti-mine activities, education, psychology, pedagogy, work experience in non-governmental organizations, etc.).
  • Experience of public speaking and conducting presentations.
  • Experience of social work with different categories of the population.
  • Basic higher education: educational and qualification level not lower than a bachelor’s.
  • Fluent command of the Ukrainian language (oral and written).
  • Confirmed initiative; leadership potential; the ability to think creatively; ability to adapt tovariable conditions; the ability to bear responsibility for decisions and actions; ability to work autonomously; ability to work in a team; communicate with respect; adhere to the principles of equality and diversity.
  • Completion of relevant courses will be an advantage.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Google Workspace and technical means for conducting presentations (laptop, portable speaker system, projector, printer, tablet, etc.).
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining relations with local self-government bodies, enterprises, institutions, organizations, educational institutions, etc. will be an advantage.
  • Proven skills in business correspondence and presentation of HALO Ukraine at meetings and events will be an advantage.
  • Driver's license category B, with active experience driving a vehicle with a manual transmission. Confirmed internal attestation for the right to drive a car in HALO Ukraine will be an advantage.
  • Availability of letters of recommendation or characteristics from previous workplaces.

Obligations of a specialist:

  • Conduct public awareness activities (sessions, trainings, conversations, mass events, visits to households) in accordance with current Standard Operating Procedures Representations.
  • Collect information in event areas as required by the team leader.
  • Ensure accurate beneficiary counting, photo capture and data provision for reliable reporting.
  • Verifies materials used in operational activities, as well as knowledge and impact testing results.
  • Communicates directly with beneficiaries and captures up-to-date information from population.
  • Ensure the proper arrangement of locations for events in accordance with the approved instructions.
  • Conduct high-quality photo-fixation of the team’s activities and prepare photo reports for donors.
  • Plan events, fill out reports, maintain communication with beneficiaries and search for locations.
  • Present the goals, tasks and activities of the Representative Office, provide information on mine danger and the progress of work on demining and NTO.
  • Represent the unit at events, conferences, in the media and working groups, report on the results of participation.
  • Promptly inform management about changes to the operational plan, security threats and violations of procedures.
  • Adaptation to changes in operational activity; participate in the implementation of new programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain fixed property and equipment in proper condition Representative Offices.
  • Report absences from work in the prescribed manner through official communication channels.
  • Ensure confidentiality of personal data and comply with legal requirements.
  • Follow the policies, procedures, values and mission of the Representative Office and carry out other management assignments.

Working conditions:

  • Official employment in accordance with the Labor Code (paid vacation 24 calendar days, paid sick days)
  • Work schedule - operational schedule (10/11 working days - 3/4 weekends)
  • Salary: basic salary 4UAH 8,408.00 (taxes are deducted from this amount)
  • Payment for business trips - UAH 800/day

  • Reservation of conscripts (80% of the staff)
  • Work location - the city of Brovary (permanent business trips to other regions are expected of Ukraine)

Stages of candidate selection:
1. Compliance of the resume with the requirements and evaluation of the cover letter
2. Completion of a one-day workshop
3. Completion of an interview
4. Completion of a training course Training on the risks associated with GNP

Evaluation of candidates will be carried out at each stage of selection. The transition to the next stage will take place based on the results of the appropriate assessment. Candidates who successfully pass all four stages and, based on the results of the evaluation, enter the rating, will be invited for employment.
