ROKADA BFannounces a competition to fill a vacancy-Specialist / inclusion specialist
Inclusion specialist / specialist is responsible for the integration of an inclusive approach in all areas of the project: infrastructure solutions, educational programs, activities of institutions, work of communities and the Barrier-Free Council. The position ensures compliance with the principles of universal design, non-discrimination and accessibility, and also takes into account the needs of people with different forms of disability, different age groups, IDPs and people with cognitive or sensory impairments.
The specialist works at the intersection of technical, social and educational processes, helping communities to make their services really accessible to all users, not just formally "adapted".
Basics responsibilities
conducting accessibility audits of social and administrative institutions of the Mykolaiv region
evaluation of movement routes, spatial planning, information barriers, sensory risks and the quality of staff interaction with users
analysis of the possibilities of adapting the environment taking into account the needs of people with impaired mobility, vision, hearing, intellectual development and autism
preparation recommendations on the removal of barriers, the use of inclusive furniture and equipment
formation of technical tasks for adaptation of spaces in cooperation with an engineer
participation in planning and implementation of solutions (ramps, handrails, tactile elements, sensory tools, adapted waiting areas, information media)
conducting inspections of locations after installation equipment
participation in the preparation of practical manuals, brochures and methodical materials
documentation of inclusive solutions, description of typical barriers and effective adaptation models
interaction with the communication team in the creation of photo and video materials demonstrating changes in institutions and communities
active participation in the work of the Barrier-free Council
advising council members on barrier assessment, filling out checklists, forming priorities and technical proposals for local authorities
explaining regulatory requirements for accessibility and supporting communities in formulating realistic plans for inclusive changes
integrating inclusive principles into recommendations, fieldstechnical proposals, models of local policies and participation processes
work with vulnerable groups, feedback collection and promotion of ethical interaction of communities with people with disabilities
cooperation with MEAL Specialist in determining accessibility indicators
participation in monitoring visits
analysis of the effectiveness of adaptations and the level of satisfaction users
preparation of proposals for adjusting decisions in the event of new barriers being identified
participating in the transfer of infrastructure solutions to institutions
explaining the rules for operating equipment
providing recommendations for maintenance and preventing risks of use
Profile of the candidate
The position requires empathy, deep understanding of the needs of different groups, knowledge of inclusion standards and the ability to combine social, technical and communication approaches in real work with communities.
