DRB has existed in Ukraine since 2014 . In total, more than 800 employees work at DRB on the territory of Ukraine at the moment. In 2024, the DRB continues a significant expansion to implement emergency response in the sectors of social and legal protection, economic development, housing reconstruction and resettlement / non-food aid and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding (humanitarian demining), providing direct support to responsible individuals and public organizations (NGOs ), as well as creating partnerships with NGOs. DRB will continue to develop its package of long-term solutions, adapting them to the changing context.
DRB is currently looking for Specialist of the housing restoration project in the city of Kharkiv.
About the job
Housing restoration project specialist will play a key role in the DRB's response to the needs of housing and infrastructure restoration in the east of the country. The housing rehabilitation project specialist will provide technical support and supervise the technical aspects of the implementation of the DRB program.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Program and operational activities
- Ensure effective and efficient implementation of the program in compliance with the budget and work plan.
- Ensure quality measures in the field of housing and infrastructure, including daily supervision of partners, contractors and quality control.
- Monitor housing restoration work and maintain daily reports on project progress
- Track, collect, prepare and update daily information required for weekly and monthly reporting system.
Coordination and Representation
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on relevant sector issues
- Represent DRB at meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings
- Ensure strong integration with by all other sectors of the DRB.Work closely with other departments to ensure effective operations.
Project development
- Develop project plans and budgets for financing, organize and check the cost assessment of project solutions.
- Prepare a package of documents for procurement
- Develop and monitorand project tools, monitor and check project decisions and comprehensively check project documentation.
- Prepare tender documentation for the implementation of construction projects.
- Monitor and evaluate projects, control the work schedule.

- Form design tasks, technical tasks, coordinate technical decision cards, list of equipment and materials.
- Initiate purchases and ensure their implementation.
- Communicate with contractors, subcontractors and subcontracting organizations.
About you:< /p>
To be successful in the position frehabilitation project sponsor, we expect you to have as a minimum 3 years of professional experience in successful implementation of capital construction projects.
We also expect the following:
Required:
- Graduate degree in civil engineering or civil engineering, or other relevant field.
- Significant experience in civil engineering may substitute for technical education
- Developed analytical abilities, technical literacy
- Knowledge of the normative construction base, (DBN, PUE, DSTU, NPAOP, NAPB)
- Ability to perfectly read drawings
- Confident use of the package Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Propensity to study and implement the organization's policies and procedures.
- Fluency in the Ukrainian language
Preferably:
- Skills with GIS and AutoCAD software
- Experience in humanitarian response for an international non-governmental organization, relevant ministry or local authority.
- Proficiency in English at an intermediate level.
