HMA Interpreter/Ops Officer - Kyiv, Ukraine - Intranet DCA

The HMA Interpreter/Ops Officer is responsible to translate, interpret, coordinate and provide operational support to the HMA programme. The position ensures smooth communication between DCA, national authorities, partners, and communities, and supports compliance with national mine action requirements and DCA procedures. 

Regardless of the content of this job description the employee is expected to participate in any task necessary for the organization always delegated by the line manager.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support verbal communications between International and National staff through interpretation of English/Ukrainian language as required. 
  • Translate reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, and official documents. 
  • Liaise and coordinate with local partners implementing HMA activities. 
  • Maintain an updated glossary of mine action technical terminology.
  • Update the HMA data in coordination with GIS/IM coordinator
  • Maintain and update all training data.
  • Work within the framework of DCA core values
  • Maintain a professional behaviour in all duties and responsibilities in line with DCA’s core values. 
  • Provide support to DCA on any Mine Clearance MoU/Accreditation work
  • Follow up on coordination actions and flag risks or delays to management.
  • Keep all documentation and files updated, properly filed and easily accessible for the internal users. 
  • Participate in meetings where relevant.
  • Assist in monitoring HMA field activities and tracking operational progress. 
  • Undertake any other duties within the scope of DCA HMA programming as required.
