Head of the production automation department in Everstar

Now we are looking for a Head of the Production Automation Department for our client, one of the largest developers and manufacturers of UAVs for the defense needs of Ukraine.

The team focuses on constantly improving the characteristics of the boards, using new approaches and technologies. In-house production facilities allow you to quickly implement changes and ideas.

The purpose of the role:To build and lead a new production automation department as an internal engineering center that will ensure the development, implementation and scaling of automated solutions for the specifics of production - from the formation of the engineering concept to the launch in mass production

Required skills and experience:

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing automation / robotics / integration of automated lines;
• Experience in managing engineering or project teams;
• Experience in implementing turnkey automation projects;
• Deep understanding of the integration of mechanics, electronics and software;
• Experience in working with PLC, robots, sensors, control systems;
• Experience in commissioning and launching into serial production;
• System engineering thinking (architectural approach);
• Experience working with contractors and integrators.

Would be an advantage:

• Experience in creating custom equipment;

• Experience in electronics manufacturing or assembly operations;

• Understanding lean manufacturing;

• Experience building an automation or R&D department.

Future responsibilities:

• Formation and development of the production automation department, building a team and organizing its effective work;
• Development and implementation of a strategy for automation of production processes (robotics, conveyor lines, test systems, etc.);
• Planning and implementing automation projects to improve productivity, reduce cycle time and reduce scrap;
• Analysis of existing processes and development of technical solutions to improve efficiency (OEE, throughput, uptime);
• Selection, implementation and integration of equipment, robots, sensors, control systems and software in the production line;
• Testing and commissioning of automated systems, control of their stability and performance;
• Cooperation with the chief technologist and production economist to evaluate the technical and economic efficiency of automation;
• Provide technical documentation for automated processes (schemes, algorithms, instructions, SOP);
• Development of KPIs for the automation department and control of their achievement;
• Participation in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing manual labor and increasing production accuracy;
• Ensuring the safety of automated equipment and compliance with industrial safety standards.
