Hardware QA Engineer in Ajax Systems

R&D is responsible for device development at Ajax, which consists of four departments: System, Device, Automation and QA.

We are looking for a new player to Automation Department, which will strengthen the QA Engineer team.

The main goal of the automation team is to ensure the efficient production of quality devices in the shortest possible time. We develop our own software and hardware that is used at all stages of production, from board assembly, circuit testing and microcontroller firmware, to device verification and Starter Kits. We are looking for someone to join our quality assurance team who enjoys testing as software and hardware. 

For us, QA is not a simple template job, but a person with an engineering mindset, able to identify problems in complex large-scale systems. We love our product very much, but we also have high standards and no compromises regarding its quality. We are supporters of common sense. For us, QA primarily means being an advocate for the end user. Therefore, the reliability of the system and its convenience are the main issues that interest the QA engineer.

Tasks:

• Improve the quality of our hardware and software products for firmware testing of devices in production;
• Analyze requirements for testing devices, program functionality and test stands;
• Preparation of checklists, test cases, test plans;
• Not just to find bugs, but with the help of logs, debugging tools and external manifestations to find out the causes of these bugs;
• To conduct research on the operation of devices and programs, troubleshooting.< /li>

Necessary knowledge and skills:

• Strong technical background (technical education);
• Knowledge and understanding of testing theory (who is QA, what does he do, and what techniques exist for this);
• Ability to write test cases, user scenarios, checklists;
• Ability to correctly describe a bug report and managing the bug lifecycle;
• Working with bug tracking systems (Jira);
• Ability to work with databases and SQL queries;
• Understanding the principle of operation basic electronic components (resistor, capacitor, transistor...);
• Basic skills of reading electrical circuits and knowledge of the graphic representation of electrical components;
• Communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team;
• English at the level of reading and understanding documentation.

• Knowledge of the version control system (git);
• Understanding what a database is and how they are arranged;
• Tocertificate of work with KVPiA or installation and adjustment of low-current systems.
