Ukrainian Network for Children's Rights (hereinafter - UMPD) was created to consolidate efforts and improve coordination between civil society organizations in Ukraine and their influence on state policy in the field of ensuring children's rights.

Ukrainian Network for Children's Rights" within the project "Supporting children and youth with experience in alternative forms of care"is looking for a child and youth empowerment manager.

Tasks: planning, coordinating and implementing initiatives aimed at developing life skills, strengthening resilience through psychosocial support and training programs, engaging in decision-making and supporting adolescents and young people, especially those who have grown or grow up in residential institutions, in foster homes, family-type children's homes, under guardianship/care or in difficult life circumstances.

Main duties:

  • holding one-day meetings for participants of the "DIiMO" Office;
  • development and implementation of educational and developmental programs for children and youth;
  • organization of trainings, seminars and other events for the formation of skills and competences among the target audience, as well as strengthening resilience through psychosocial support and educational programs;
  • attraction of participants to participate in decision-making that concerns them: selection, communication, support in the process participation;
  • interaction with partners and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive development of children and youth;
  • maintaining a high level of communication with program and project participants, including chat support;
  • ensuring a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all participants;
  • creating checklists, guides, road maps for children and young people;
  • preparation of short reports based on the results of the activities;
  • monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of implemented projects, identification of opportunities for improvement and further development.

Requirements for the candidate(s):

  • experience of managing projects in the social, educational or youth sphere;
  • experience of working with teenagers and/or young people, in particular vulnerable groups;
  • knowledge of approaches to youth participation in decision-making, principles of protection of children's rights;
  • high level of responsibility, initiative, self-organization skills;
  • fluency in the Ukrainian language (oral and written);
  • ability to work with empathy, support the development of independence, responsibility and basic life skills in teenagers and young people;
  • readiness to implement new approaches in working with children and youth, openness to change, ability to adapt to a dynamic environment;
  • experience of participation in student self-government, youth councils, advisory or advisory bodies will be an advantage;
  • personal experience of alternative care or involvement in youth initiatives will be an advantage;
  • higher education in the field of social work, psychology, pedagogy, sociology, management or related specialties.
