We are currently increasing our efforts in Ukraine and neighboring countries to provide assistance to people forced to leave their homes due to war.

We are looking for an Training Assistantin the NRC Northern Regional Office in style="font-weight: 400">Shostka.

Your duties will include:

  • Adhere to policies, tools, NRC manuals and guidelines, strictly adhering to the Code of Conduct and child protection policies.
  • Provide various support in the implementation of the portfolio of educational programs in accordance with the work plan.
  • Implement and monitor project activities in accordance with the work plan, facilitate the implementation of educational activities under the guidance of the educational project coordinator.
  • Responsible for organizing and completing tasks according to priorities and standards.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in a specialized area of work that provides technical assistance and support to be most effective in supporting the team.
  • Take initiative in solving day-to-day problems according to agreed procedures, priorities and industry standards work.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement in their area of expertise.
  • Ensure proper record keeping.
  • Promote refugee rights, internally displaced persons, returnees and host community according to SPERE and INEE minimum standards.
  • Provide support to NRC in school renovation, BLP, youth and catch-up activities, NFI according to NRC quality standards.
  • Ensure direct communication and feedback with project participants and relevant acceptingwe are communities.
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring and reporting of field projects.
  • Maintain and regularly update databases used by the education team to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Regular on-site travel to support Education, Recreation and Psychosocial Support (PSS) activities (direct implementation and implementation by partners).
  • Organize and support teacher training, training of teaching staff and training of trainers (ToT) on topics such as teacher wellbeing, child protection and psychosocial support.
  • Monitor school renovation activities in coordination with the housing team and other relevant key competencies of the NRC.
  • Monitor the activities of partners in collaboration with the Education Coordinator.
  • Identify NGOs / other local organizations for potential partnerships in the field of PPP / mental health / catch-up training and youth work and maintain coordination.
  • Execute any other tasks related to the position at the request of the immediate supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Previous work experience in difficult and unstable conditions; ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Strong computer skills required, including MS Word, Outlook. Proficiency in MS Excel and proven experience using MS Excel in previous positions.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work diligently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with supporting documentation related to processes procurement, including agreements, invoices and acceptance-handover acts is an advantage.
  • Experience in the education sector in Ukraine is an advantage.
  • Experience in humanitarian/emergency situations is an advantage.
  • Fluency in the Ukrainian language as both written and oral; intermediate English skills are required.
  • Good understanding of the education system in Ukraine. Knowledge of the context of education in emergency situations is desirable.
  • Higher education and/or degree is desirable.
