We are currently looking for a Director of Marketing and Product Development (Product & Marketing Director)

The main mission of the role:manage the product life cycle from trend finding to product appearance on the shelf to build an effective portfolio of brands that will ensure market share growth in Ukraine and successful expansion into Europe.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Experience: 5+ years in management positions in import-oriented distribution companies or retail with a high frequency of BTM (Non-food, Toys, Fashion or Retail)
  • Positions director frommarketing/purchasing/commercial management
    • Deep understanding of product P&L, pricing and margin management.
    • Work experience (import/export), understanding the specifics of working with China and the EU.
    • Experience in launching new products (TM / R&D) or bringing brands to new markets.
  • Languages: English - advanced
  • Soft Skills:
  • Trendspotter: Ability to see trends before others ("hype sense")
  • Negotiator: Strong negotiation skills
  • Data-driven: Decision-making based on numbers and analytics
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to drive a team

We offer an introduction to kkey areas of responsibility:

1. Assortment management and Product Strategy:

  • Development and implementation of the company's assortment strategy (Ukraine + Export).
  • Management of product categories: assortment rotation, margin and turnover.
  • Creation and implementation of development strategies for the company's key brands.
  • Volume planning of sales together with the sales department.
  • Budgeting.
  • Adaptation of the product portfolio to the requirements and preferences of European markets.
  • Establishment of an effective process of interaction with the promotion and advertising function.

2. Creating new products :

  • Keleading the development of own brands for local and international markets.
  • Generation of new product ideas, approval of design, packaging and functionality.
  • Control of cost of product (COGS) to ensure competitive price on the shelf.

3. Trendwatching and communication with the market:

  • Building a system for monitoring global trends in the toy market (including visiting exhibitions).
  • Constant monitoring of the situation (purchasing power, actions of competitors, price wars) for quick adaptation of prices and assortment. You need to know what is happening "in the field" before the report shows it.
  • Providing the Sales team with arguments for negotiations (market analysis, price justification, potential of the new product).
  • Responsible for the accuracy of sales plans for new products. Close cooperation with the sales department to minimize OOS (out-of-stock) and overstock.
  • Participation in negotiations with international rights holders and manufacturers (USA, China, Europe) regarding exclusive terms.

5. Team management (Leadership):

  • Effective team management: Brand managers, Category managers, Product analysts.
  • Setting goals (OKR, KPIs), motivation and professional development of employees.
  • Building cross-functional interaction with sales, logistics and marketing departments communications.
  • Transformation of the team's thinking from "process" to "focused on financial results".
