The client seeks a skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to join their platform team. This fully remote position is open to candidates located anywhere and offers a 1-year contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS, Datadog, and infrastructure management, with a focus on simplicity, efficiency, and collaboration.About the RoleAs a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the stability, scalability, and performance of the client’s platform. Working closely with software engineers and product managers, you will optimize infrastructure, design deployment pipelines, and ensure a smooth and efficient development process. You will be part of a dynamic startup environment that values innovation, continuous improvement, and teamwork.Responsibilities 1. Infrastructure Management: • Manage and scale infrastructure on AWS, including EC2 instances, load balancers, networking (VPC, Route53), and architecture optimization for high availability and fault tolerance. 2. Deployment and Continuous Integration: • Design and implement deployment pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeDeploy, and GitHub. • Automate software release processes for reliability and efficiency. 3. Monitoring and Alerting: • Set up monitoring and alerting systems using Datadog, including dashboards and alerts. • Track metrics, identify performance issues, and optimize system availability. 4. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): • Develop and maintain reproducible and scalable infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform. 5. Security and Compliance: • Implement and maintain security measures such as encryption, access controls, and vulnerability scanning to meet industry standards. 6. Troubleshooting and Incident Management: • Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures. • Participate in on-call rotations to address infrastructure-related incidents. 7. Collaboration and Documentation: • Share technical knowledge and guidance with team members through collaboration and meetings. • Document infrastructure, deployment processes, and standard operating procedures to support team onboarding and knowledge sharing.Qualifications • Experience: • Minimum of 3 years working with AWS. • Minimum of 5 years of automation scripting experience (preferably Python). • Tools: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, particularly Datadog. • Skills: • Strong understanding of infrastructure components and networking concepts. • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.Job Details • Contract Length: 1 year. • Location: Fully remote (work from anywhere).Diversity & InclusionTribes is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable hiring process.
