KEY DUTIES:

< p style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal">MEAL The Database Assistant  provides accurate data management, including entry, validation and reporting, to support program monitoring and evaluation. This role facilitates informed decision making and accountability by maintaining databases and assisting with data analysis for the MEAL team. 

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Data registration in appropriate data collection forms as necessary. 

  • Entering, checking and managing data in databases according to requirements. 

  • Perform data verification and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency. 

  • Create reports and analytical tables. 

  • Conducting telephone interviews as part of needs assessment or other data collection activities as necessary.

Qualification:

  • Higher education in a relevant field, such as- i.e. statistics, mathematics, data analysis, computer science, psychology, political science, economics, international development or a related discipline.  

  • Fluency in written and spoken Ukrainian, Russian and English (not lower than B1 level).   

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS< /p>

Required

  • At least 1 year of hotline, customer support or large database experience. 

  • 1-2 years of related experience, preferably in non-governmental or humanitarian organizations. 

  • Experience in data collection and the ability to quickly manage and analyze large amounts of data. 

  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to process and work with complex data. 

  • Understanding and familiarity with database design and management. 

  • Advanced skills in working with MS Office programs, in particular Excel. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

ROLE PURPOSE:

< em style="font-weight: 400"> The MEAL Database Assistant ensures accurate data management, including data entry, validation, and reporting, to support program monitoring and evaluation. This role contributes to informed decision-making and accountability by maintaining databases and assisting with data analysis for the MEAL team.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 

  • Register data into relevant data collection forms as needed.
  • Enter, check, clean, analyze, and manage data in databases as requested.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Generate reports and dashboards.
  • Conduct phone-based interviews as part of needs assessments or other data collection efforts as needed.
  •  Support the MEAL team with additional tasksas needed, including support for assessments, evaluations, and monitoring visits

QUALIFICATION:

  • University degree in a relevant field such as statistics, math, data analysis, computer science, psychology, political science, economics, international development, or a related discipline. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken Ukrainian, Russian and English (at least B1 level). 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  •  Minimum of 1 year of experience operating hotlines, providing customer support, or working with large databases.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably within NGOs or humanitarian organizations.
  •  Demonstrated experience in data collection, with the ability to manage and analyze large data sets efficiently.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret and work with complex data.
  • Solid understanding of database design and management.
  •  Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
