The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international non-governmental organization that promotes and supports long-term solutions to the challenges faced by refugees and internally displaced people around the world.

DRB works in Ukraine since 2014, DRB already has more than 800 staff in Ukraine and will continue to expand significantly in 2024, for rapid emergency response in the sectors of social protection, livelihoods, housing and non-food kits, humanitarian demining and peacebuilding ( humanitarian demining), through direct intervention and support of authorized persons and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). DRB will continue to implement its suite of long-term solutions to meet changing circumstances.

DRB is currently seeking a highly qualified Monitoring Specialist and data evaluation for work in the city of Dnipro.

General purpose of the role:

  • Carry out monitoring activities in the region
  • Efficiently communicate information to program teams
  • Collect data from locations and track activities to provide feedback on the quality and relevance of assistance
  • Analyze data and participate in reporting for support programs, learning and donor development programs

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Conducting daily monitoring, including visits to the places of activity of program departments and post-monitoring;
  • Support in conducting joint monitoring with beneficiaries of the DRB using the developed programs; 
  • Support in the development of methodology and tools for data collection;
  • Ensuring high data quality through accurate data collection, input and uploading, as well as basic information analysis; 
  • Ensuring timely reporting of monitoring activities in accordance with project work plans and schedules;
  • Providing regular oral and written feedback on field observations and monitoring results to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager and relevant program staff; 
  • Working closely with program teams, conducting any monitoring activities for projects in the region.

About you:

To be successful in this position, we expect , that you will have at least 2 years of professional experience preferably in the field of social work, community development, non-governmental organizations or civil society. . 

In addition, we also expect the following from you:

  • Higher education in a relevant field (social studies or equivalent professional qualification);
  • Experience of working in humanitarian organizations and/or with the humanitarian sector and using data collection tools;
  • Knowledge/experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly information management or accountability;
  • Excellent command of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; 
  • Basic knowledge of practices and tools data analysis;
  • Advanced level of English;
  • Fluency in Ukrainian.

We offer:

  • Contract: Open-ended contract after successful 3-month trial period
  • Level: N.
  • Place of duties: Dnipro.
  • Start date: January 2025.

The position is open to citizens of Ukraine or those who have a valid right to work in Ukraine. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the terms of employment of national staff of the Danish Refugee Council.
