WWF-Ukraine together with WWF-Sweden with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Support Agency SIDA is deploying a two-year program Together for People and Planet (ToPP).
The program is based on three goals:
- Strengthening the organizational capacity of local public organizations.
- Development of cross-sectoral cooperation between environmental non-governmental organizations, state authorities, business, humanitarian and other sectors.
- Increasing citizens’ awareness of their right to a healthy environment and mechanisms for participation in relevant decision-making.
The structure of the program provides for the cooperation of WWF-Ukraine in the role of a grant-giver with partners, Ukrainian non-governmental organizations that implement their own projects in the three objectives of the program.
Unlike traditional approaches, in the Together for People and the Planet program, WWF-Ukraine will act not only as an "umbrella" organization, but will also actively implement its own project goals and integration initiatives. This will include public research, targeted communication campaigns, practical studios and dialogue formats aimed at increasing attention to the key themes of the program.
We are looking for a Coordinator of this program in Ukraine.
Briefly, this role is about
- Creating integration between program participants, individual WWF teams, as well as other actors working on this and related topics and interested in collaboration. Represent WWF-Ukraine on the topic of civil society development and its role in sustainable development of the country.
- Perform high-quality operational management of a program/project with a small number of partners.
- To be a leader in the design and implementation of program actions for which WWF-Ukraine is responsible (part of the formats mentioned above).
Key responsibilities:
Strategic level
- Coordinator for the implementation of the program in Ukraine, its compliance with donor conditions.
- Builds connections that contribute to its development, strengthen the actions of WWF-Ukraine and partners.
- Forms the positioning and main theses (messages) of the program in Ukraine.
- Interacts with the management team of WWF-Ukraine and especially the "Policy and Advocacy" direction to deploy and strengthen the program.
- Publicly presents the program on behalf of WWF-Ukraine.
- Ensures compliance with the core values of the program and WWF as a whole: zero tolerance for corruption, integrity, respect and observance of human rights, gender sensitivity, inclusive approaches in nature protection (Inclusive conservation).
- Creates the basis for the long-term effect of program implementation.
Operational level
Program coordination, grant component
- Builds a holistic program management system (planning, finance, monitoring, reporting, etc.) in accordance with the conditions and requirements of donors and WWF's internal standards.
- With the support of the program's MEAL specialist, implements a monitoring, evaluation, accountability and training system for all program participants.
- Responsible for interaction with fourpartner organizations that are part of the grant program, as well as with the program's key donors.
- Performs financial management, which includes cost control, procurement organization and preparation for audits.
- Directs and coordinates the operational activities of the program team (up to 4 specialists).
- Responsible for maintaining the proper organization of all program materials and documents.
Implementation of program activities that assigned to WWF-Ukraine Mobilizes internal and external WWF resources for the design and implementation of program activities assigned to WWF-Ukraine. Ensures synchronization of program activities with other activities of the organization. Creates technical tasks and ensures quality service provision by providers. Organizes a system of technical and financial reporting based on implemented activities.Sets up monitoring of channels related to the topics of the program.Successful candidate(s):
- Can have a higher education in very different areas - environmental, management\governance, international relations, political sciences, communications, etc.
- Has significant management experience system projects \ programs in public organizations, donor or development organizations.
- Has a good understanding of the public sector in Ukraine, in particular in the environmental topic.
- Inspired by the opportunities for the development of civil society and understands the importance of forming interactions with other sectors, based on knowledge and taking into account the interests of all parties.
- He feels his natural role as an integrator, who promotes the development of relations between various actors, organically disposed to see opportunities for joint actions and solutions.
- Ready to develop a deep understanding of the topics covered by the program.
- Fluent in English language in a professional environment.
Preference will be given to candidates who are in Ukraine.
