SCI has been working in Ukraine since 2014. It started its work in the territory of the Donetsk region. Currently, SCI is expanding its activities to eight cities of Ukraine, and Kharkiv is one of them.

We work in the areas of education, child protection, overcoming child poverty, health care, and also conduct advocacy activities, related to the protection of children's rights.

We are currently looking for a Coordinator of the Child Protection and Mental Health Department. The CP&MHPSS coordinator will manage, facilitate andmonitor the implementation of programs in the field of child protection (CP) and MHPSS in the Kharkiv region. This includes a range of CP and MHPSS activities for children, adolescents and families, implemented both directly and under the leadership of partners, with an emphasis on strengthening child protection systems at the community level, as well as onintersectoral span> integration and emergency response.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy planning, development and implementation responding to CP & MHPSS at the community level
  • Assuring program quality
  • Analyzing context and promoting the centrality of protection
  • Strengthening coordination and external communication
  • Human resources and performance management
  • Administrative and budgetary management of CP and MHPSS activities
  • Advocacy and fundraising

Requirements for candidates:

  • Higher education in the field of social sciences, preferably in psychology, counseling, sociology, social work, development and/or child protection, or other relevant professional education. 

  • 1-3 years of progressive management experience in child protection and/or MHPSS or other relevant sector, including at least 1 year of experience working in an emergency setting.  

  • Significant experience in all aspects of project management in the NGO development sector, including working in partnership with local NGOs.   

  • Proven experience in financial management and administration.  

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team management skills including leadership and influencing. 

  • Experienced user of MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook. 

  • Open commitment to the development of staff and partners. 

  • Ability to focus on long-term goals and outcomes while addressing day-to-day program/administrative issues. 

  • Deep understanding of current child protection issues related to both development and emergency situations in eastern Ukraine; willingness to work both with and for children and families. 

  • Proficiency in English not lower than B1 level
